Product Description

Why buy an expensive headset just for your IP phone? Use the Headset Buddy Adapter and your existing computer headset with VOIP phones that have a headset jack.

A big productivity enhancer for home businesses, call centers, sales people, or anyone who is on the phone all the time, and wants to use a lower cost or more comfortable PC headset.

Specs: This amazing adaptor converts the standard headset 3.5mm mic/audio plugs to a standard RJ9, RJ10, or RJ22 handset plug, allowing you to use your favorite computer/laptop headset with your IP phone. This adapter is designed for use with headsets that have two 3.5 mm. plugs; one for the microphone and one for the headphones/earpiece(s). The adapter outputs binaural sound for stereo headsets, meaning you will hear sound out of both ears. The adapter cable is approximately five inches long. All Headset Buddy products are EU RoHS Compliant.

Finally, after purchasing and returning two other adapters (from different sellers) I recieved one that works. Everyone in my office has ordered this adapter and the only one that works comes from Long Tail Products. All of the adapters come from the same quality deficient Chinese company and are manufactured for Headset Buddy. But the ones from Long Tail must be from a batch that were made properly. The others simply do not work. The first sign that you have a defective one is that the mic and headphone cables are crossed (reversed). If you see that, then you might as well return it because the sound on the mic will be difficult to hear on the other end. Thanks to Amazon for taking the other two back.

Worked perfect as expected now I have my headsets hooked to my Avaya Phone and do not have to listen to my annoying co-worker

I bought this hoping it would work with my Avaya 9608, 9611, and/or 1608 model phones that we have deployed. Unfortunately, this adapter does not work with any of these phones. Sound can be heard through the earphones, but the mic is non-functional.

4 out of 5 stars being that it works fantastic with my Mitel 5330 set I use.

product met my needs, easy to connect, appears fairly durable, transmits clear sound, and was less expensive than the alternative VOIP headset with R9 or r10 jack. Hooked my $15 PC headset up right to the phone.

I haven't used the item much yet, but it so far has worked as expected. I hooked it into the 6408D+ Avaya phone on my desk at work and then hooked in my Razer Carcharias Gaming Headset (Black) into it. I made a call to my cellphone to test it. Audio came through the headset perfectly and the mic was loud and clear. I highly recommend this over your typical headset configuration for work phones. You get crisp sound in both ears, and I can mute and adjust volume on the cord of the headset that I'm using.

Update: While the device was working fine with my headset, it was a little bit quiet on some calls and with too much background sound. So for about another $20 I purchased the FiiO E5 Headphone Amplifier. It works great for boosting the sound level but I did find one issue with the Avaya phone I'm using with. It seems to kill the phone if I have the booster plugged in via USB for charging while I also have it plugged in to the phone. So I have to disconnect it for charging and then disconnect it from USB before connecting it to the phone for a call. I haven't tried any other boosters, but this isn't really a big issue for me, so I'm fine with it.

This is a good adaptor and it does not compromise volume at all. It does not have any ticks or issues that I have yet to notice. I am very pleased with the performance.

The headset I use with this works perfect on every computer....but with this adapter, the people on the other end can barely hear me if at all.
I wouldn't recommend this adapter, unless you have a way of adjusting the actual "microphone" volume, not just the "headset" volume through your phone...
Or maybe I just got a faulty adapter, and then have to pay to have it shipped back...avoid this adapter if it's not absolutely necessary.

The only pro: The headphone volume works fine.

These adapters work as advertised. I ordered 5 for my office, and all of them work great. I'm not sure where the complaints about "cheaply made" come from. They seem to be as well made as any adapter that you would buy from a big box store. I can't speak for interoperability with particular phones of phone systems, but all of the adapters work fine with all of our phones.
