If you were born after 1945, I bet you have a drawer full of headphones. I refuse to buy another set. I doubt my Westie or my Boxer can digest 30 headphones in the next 12 months, but who knows? I bet the Pantech people neglected to design the Matrix without a universal stereo jack like every phone in the UNIVERSE in order to squeeze another $19.99 out of me. Simple design. Plug any universal stereo headphone jack into adapter that fits snugly into power supply/headphone slot on the side of the Matrix. This neat adapter allows you to try out the nifty headphone collection you've accumulated. Enjoy .....

I bought this adapter for my 12 year old son. He got the Pantech Matrix cell phone for his birthday and loves to use it. I however don't want to listen to what he is watching, listening to so we looked into headphones. The headphones made for this phone have huge ear buds that would not fit into his ears (or my husband's for that matter) so we looked for an adapter and found this one. It works great with his favorite headphones and makes life much easier!

It may not be as classy as the bluetooth earphones and all that jazz, but it works and it's a cheap alternative for someone who already has more earbuds/headphones then you can shake a stick at.

This does not fit the Pursuit II phone from Pantech. Are having to return it because it doesn't work. Only fits the original pursuit phone.

This is partly my fault, but is a cautionary tale. Bought it to use as connector for corded phone headset. However, it was the wrong size (3.5mm versus 2.5mm). It worked for music headphones out of the box, but had to buy an adapter for phone headset. At that point, it was hit or miss when trying to use the adapter for phone headset. So, great for music, but not for phone if your phone headset does not fit connector.

Words can't explain how much I hate this adapter.
Sometimes the adapter works, sometimes it doesn't.
When I have the adapter plugged into my phone and then I insert my earphones, I realized that it makes random calls.
Also, I realized that sometimes one ear doesn't work or the sound quality is so bad. I have to twist the cord a little bit to make it work. I know my earphones are not the problem because they work fine when I plug them into my computer.
I hate this trash so much but its the only thing I have so far right now.
Don't buy it! Blah, if only pantech phones had a regular audio jack, would my life be better.

the pros: no need to buy MORE headphones. works with microphone! small and not cumbersome. the cons: nothing buy it!

If you don't want to go the BlueTooth route, this adapter works well with a head set I bought at Radio Shack for $13, so the whole hands free experience can be gotten for about $20. Pantech has a specific and unique connection to attach a headphone, which of course is a money maker for them if you buy their brand. It's infuriating that I can't use my other headsets with this phone.

I was very happy with the product. I reveived exactly what was pictured. Also I received the product in the mail much faster then I expected which made me even happier.

I bought this for use with my Pantech Link and it successfully adapts my headphones to my phone, but the signal ends up coming out very quiet.
