UFO TRANCSENDS STRATOSPHERE, and beyond the infinite, August 8, 2009

One of the most overlooked, and underrated hard rock acts of all time... skillful songwriting accompanied by an excellent sense of melody... this collection offers a retrospective of the Schenker years, a few peripheral tunes from related groups, and an excellent live offering from the Chapman years... very rare CD, yet worth every penny... the live version of COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT is stunning... other stand outs include ELECTRIC PHASE, and DOING IT ALL FOR YOU... for the faithful followers, this is all old news... for those who have never beheld (I was lucky to have seen them at a DAY ON THE GREEN in '79 [replacing VAN HALEN, of all groups!!!!!!!!]), or heard them, I highly recommend HEADSTONE, as well as all recordings with Michael Schenker ("Phenomenon" through "Strangers In The Night" [the definitive UFO releases])... if those recordings make a believer out of you check out selections from the Chapman era ("Wild Willing & The Innocent", "Mechanix", "No Place To Run")... climb aboard, buckle up, "take your protein pill, put your helmet on", "phasers on stun", "close the pod bay doors HAL", "make it so", "engage", "no DANGER Will Robinson"... above all else, enjoy this stellar British group...
