Elizabeth Leighton regained consciousness after four months. She learned her stepmother had been murdered and the man Elizabeth loved had been found passed out drunk on the bed beside her. Elizabeth apparently had come upon the scene and was assaulted.

***Alana Clayton used her writing talent to create a wonderful "who-dunnit" tale set during the Regency time with a large cast of characters to cloud the reader's judgement. I loved it.***
