Product Description

*** Multiplayer action for your Amazon Fire TV - playable with up to 4 players ***

Designed by FlukeDuke - the creator of "The Impossible Game" - comes a fast-paced actiongame playable with two players on one device!

The games idea is as simple a addicting: You and 3 opponents are set in an arena which is haunted by a monster. Each player tries to be the last man standing using classical 2d-gameplay mechanics. By using different weapons like flash grenades, a monster potion (turning you into a monster), an ice-rifle or even an automatic laser you are fighting for your life over and over again.

Sci-Fighters presents itself in a comic-like 2d-style using different settings like “Martian Mansion” or “Toxic Forest”. The game draws lovely animated characters and wonderful sceneries and background on the screen, designed by SuperFlashBros-genius Adam Vian.

In Sci-Fighters you play as one of four spaceship-themed characters who have different designs and voice-acted catchphrases but are otherwise interchangeable. Your task is to win a match by being the first to win a preset number of rounds; five is the default, but you can set it to anything between one and ten. In each round the characters appear in the four quadrants of the screen (northeast, northwest, etc.) while a monster (robot, vampire, etc.) appears in the center. To win the round, you have to avoid the monster until everyone else has been eaten by it. The catch is that it's not just about running away: weapons randomly appear in the arena, and if you grab one it'll give you some kind of advantage over the other players. For example, you might be able to blind them so they can't see anything, to cover them in bait so they're more attractive to the monster, or turn them into dust so they can't move at all. Or you might turn into a monster and be able to eat them yourself. But the arena's so small that getting the weapons while avoiding the monster is a sharp challenge.

This is a solid design, worth killing a few minutes with while it's free, and if you really like this sort of game it might even be worth paying for. But a couple flaws keep it from being something to recommend to the average gamer. The first is that the controls are a bit difficult. There are two control systems, one where you use a single tap to move and a double tap to use your item, and one where you use a virtual joystick to move and a button to use your item. The latter works better, but neither is optimal: you may find yourself running unintentionally into a monster's path, or firing an aimable item in the wrong direction.

With all the reports of this game as a Trojan, I was curious and had to see for myself. After installing the game, I ran a full scan with Lookout and didn't find anything. Web root however did flag this game as being a possible Trojan. But... It also flagged temple run 2 as another possible Trojan. I am not 100% sure, but it looks like there's a chance it's a false positive report by the Web root scanning engine.

The game itself isn't bad. Decent time killer especially as FAOTD.

First off, yes, the virtual joystick is the way to go.

The gameplay is kind of fun for the first few rounds. It's a bit funny, using things like a bait gun to cover your opponents in food to attract the monster.

However, every time you make a minor achievement (win a game, last 5 rounds, etc), it wants you to upload your information to something called Heyzap. I basically got sick of telling it no.

In addition, I use AVG antivirus. It didn't mention a virus while installing.

Wouldn't start, let me pick character and says start, then stops. Looks like it could be fun, hope others are having better luck!

I use lookout for phone security. It scanned the game's install file and didn't see any problem. It either does not have a signature for this Trojan or it is a fall positive.

In any case, I didn't play it. I thought the permissions were excessive for a game.

Did not play. Webroot reported as infected with a Trojan. Deleted from system and cloud. Amazon should pre scan before accepting.

I really like the premise of arena play and going five rounds with a vampire .. the controls are very very tricky, but the weapons are fun as is the chance to make yourself a monster and eat the challenges.

I played using the virtual joystick, which is just fun in any game but uses some finesse .. the tap to control system was buggy and rarely picked up my true intention (registering only one instead of two taps often).

I'm giving the game 3 stars because everything is very small and difficult to navigate, if the game and detail were bigger the game would be a lot more fun and easier to play.

There is a local multiplayer mode which could be a lot of fun if someone in your house had the same game.
