emphasis on healing,

This review is from: To Heal a Heart (Love Inspired #285) (Mass Market Paperback)
Piper Wynne is running from a tragic event in her past when she meets Mitch Sayer on an airplane. Oddly enough, Piper continues to run into Mitch after they have gone their separate ways, and a tentative relationship forms. Piper's past catches up with her though, and Piper will have to depend on the few people she's chosen to become close to in her new life to get her through the pain and heartache she must face.Arlene James sets the pace of this book just right. No plot point is revealed too quickly, and there is no rush to resolution. The relationships in the book form naturally and at a comfortable pace. She also places an emphasis on healing from past pain, and as the reader you understand why it is important for Piper to deal with her issues before she can be in a happy relationship. Again, this happens at a believable pace, it's not rushed through just to get to an arbitrary "romantic ending". I highly enjoyed reading this book and felt it was one of the better "Love Inspired" novels I've read.

Love heals all wounds, but only if applied,

Mitch Sayer and Piper Wynne meet on a plane and he later finds a crumpled letter on the plane's floor which affects him to the degree that he feels he must find out who wrote it. He later discovers that he and Piper share the same city and work near each other, so this leads to a few dates for them both. Piper is running from her past and a mistake she can't forgive herself for, and Mitch's growing attraction to her causes her to feel threatened.I liked Mitch as a character, but Piper behaved, for the most part, like an idiot. There's feeling guilty for what you did, and then there's 'I don't deserve to live' level drama. Piper's behavior is grossly unrealistic and downright silly at times. There are some decent supporting characters, including a married couple who befriend Piper. However, Piper's family includes kids named "Thai" and "Asia" (really?). It's not a truly bad book, but it's a mediocre romance at best.
