So often, patients have no idea why they have brought a certain illness into their lives. Heal Your Body A-Z is a small, easy to use reference book which explains our physical illnesses in a brand new spiritual or metaphysical light.
Each entry shows a problem, its probable mental or psychological cause, and a helpful affirmation for correction. We can then reflect or meditate in the suggested direction and eventually change our thought patterns or heal our faulty beliefs.
The book covers many specific symptoms (like anxiety, constipation, overweight, fainting); some illnesses (like AIDS, lupus, diabetes, cataracts, ulcers, arthritis); and parts of the body (like face, lower back, joints, wrists, and sinuses). Some of the more modern illnesses like fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome are missing -- but their components are there, i.e. fatigue, pain, skin rashes or appetite problems.
Louise Hay touches us with her true story about overcoming cancer, concisely discusses how we manifest illness, and gives us a truly wonderful meditation exercise for overall healing.
Excellent "hint book" for solving those incredibly difficult personal health mysteries.

If you haven't heard of Louise Hay, then you probably don't know a lot about the self-help industry. She is one of the first names you think of when you think of alternative healing. Hay is known for having healed her cancer just through the power of the mind. Like most people, I may have taken a skeptical outlook of her books at first, but the New Thought Movement has truly grown on me. In Heal Your Body, Hay talks about several common ailments and outlines many of the underlying metaphysical or spiritual issues that may be causing them. The key to beating these ailments is using the healing power of your mind, according to Hay. I'll be honest and say that I've suffered from chronic IBS for most of my adult life, but using Hay's principles has helped me achieve more days of pain-free living.

If you are still skeptical about Hay's philosophies, then I'd like to turn your attention to Simple Natural Cures: Cheap & Effective Remedies for Everyday Common Ailments by Kevin Richardson. Simple Natural Cures relies on natural (and often dietary) cures to help common ailments. Richardson's book outlines various different ailments ranging from indigestion and fever to eczema and insomnia, and each of the cures listed for these ailments has successfully worked for me. For many people, it's not enough to just "will" your healing into existence. In my case, it was (and sometimes is) hard to use only Hay's principles successfully. But, Hay herself advocates the use of natural and herbal remedies. I feel like using Simple Natural Cures by Kevin Richardson is actually a good complement for the New Thought precepts championed by Louise Hay.

I have overcome several health issues by using this book to create new thought patterns. I thought it was a bunch of new age "Hooey" when I first heard about it. I am living proof it works. Excellent and HIGHLY recommended by this former non-believer.

This book is a handy, concise guide to the psycho-spiritual issues commonly connected to physical symptoms and illnesses. This material is present in some of the author's other books, but is nicely organized and compiled here for easy access. Louise has done excellent work in helping collect insights from the metaphysical healing field to help readers learn to heal themselves using the clues provided by the mind-body feedback system.

I have relied on this little guide for many years and was thrilled to see a Kindle version available. However, the Kindle formatting is virtually unreadable. Do Not Buy This in KINDLE! It has been scanned, making the font faint and too small to read. I couldn't change font size on the parts that don't read, and am very disappointed in my purchase. I will try to get this feedback to Hay also, but advise others to buy in hardcopy.

I recently went through my old journals and found illnesses I had gone through at different times in my life. I read what was happening at those times in my life and found the emotional connections to be right on! It is weird, but true! It makes you think twice about how emotions effect health. I've also learned this with Emotional Freedom Technique. It really works to unload past emotions and free the body to be healthy and pain free.

I found this book to be a great reference book to look up what your body is trying to tell you by getting sick. It gets you to the roots of your issue and helps you to heal your body, mind and soul. Of course the amount of examples does not contain everything nevertheless I find it to be very interesting.

This is a great resource book. I've used my friend's copy for years and finally bought my own copy. It is not necessary to buy the original version both books are the same.
