She knows what you are going through,

This review is from: How to Heal Your Heart and Soul From Divorce: A Quick, Easy to Read Guide to Healing (Paperback)
Getting divorced seven years ago, was an incredibly devastating experience for me. I did the best to take the high road and move on with my life to bigger and better things. However, at the time, I had no idea what was in store for me. Knowing that in time the pain does go away, and life does get easier, if you work on bettering yourself as the author did is extremely helpful for people who are currently in the midst of the throes of pain and betrayal.
Recently, my ex filed for an annullment. After having finally gotten past the pain of what he put me through, I had to relive everything when I answered the incredibly personal questions asked by the Church. This put me on the path to wondering what really went wrong. I thought that we had the perfect relationship. Reading Tammy Lynn's story was an incredible eye opener for me. First of all, we both had our marriages unexpectedly end through betrayal after around fifteen years. She also describes the horrible pain that she felt and how she felt like she wanted it to end. I too wanted it to end and experienced suicidal thoughts. I didn't really want to die, I just needed a reprieve from the horrible and unexpected emotional drama that I was thrown into. She also mentions being able to breathe and taking up walking. I used to tell myself, "At least I can still breathe on my own." Or, "I can still walk." Determined not to take myself down a negative road of sex and alcohol that I had seen many of my friends do, I starting walking. I walked five miles in the morning and four at night. I had a support system of friends that sometimes had them joining me, and other times I was alone. I remember looking at other couples walking, and I would think about how that used to be me, and I was sad that it was no longer. I even started wondering if either person in the relationship was really as happy as their spouses thought that they were. It is amazing the processing that you go through when your world changes. As I read this book, I found it welcoming to know that I was not alone in my feelings. I also found it sad to know that others have to endure this type of situation. By sharing her story with us, Tammy Lynn uses her experiences to help others get themselves on track on moving on with there lives. Like her, I was determined not to become one of those angry bitter women that no one wants to be around. As she did, I also discovered that during my marriage, I gave up a huge portion of my self to serve his needs. Her husband was controlling, mine was unstable, but both of us sacrificed our sense of self to our partners. I think I finally have realized that this is where things went wrong for me. That is okay, because today, I know who I am, and I have learned to love and cherish another mate, without losing myself. Meanwhile my ex is stuck with a miserable, crazy, needy woman who constantly threatens to leave him. Whenever, I find someone who is going through what I did, the first thing that I do is promise them that it will get better. Eventually that horrible sick feeling in the pit of your stomach does dissapate and you learn to laugh again. After reading this book, I think it is the perfect gift for someone who is going through a painful divorce. Through Tammy Lynn's story, they will know that it will get better.

I gave this book to a dear friend whose opinion I respect, and who is going through a divorce. I asked her to read "How to Heal Your Heart and Soul From Divorce" and to tell me her take on it from the trenches.
She thought the book was terrific and found it incredibly helpful during this tough time in her life. She said it was not only informative, but touched her from an emotional angle. It helped her to understand certain feelings she was confused about. She was glad that Tammy had written the book and would recommend it to others.

I fould this book to be more therapeutic and insightful than any other resource I've tried, including a $150 per hour psychologist. The author has done a superb job of not only validating my own feelings in this troubling time but has also layed out an easy to follow plan to recovery. My confidence and optimism has greatly improved after reading this book - there is life after divorce!! Thanks Ms. Lynn!!
