It is good, very deep stuff and sort of tough.

The author explains her theory that all physical, emotional and mental diseases have their origin in what she terms the 5 wounds: abandonment, betrayal, humiliation, injustice and rejection. She discusses these wounds in great detail and elaborates upon the various masks that we develop in order to hide them. In this way she makes it easy to identify the real causes of specific problems. Her ideas are fascinating, especially where she deals with body weight and other clues provided by our bodies. Apparently even the way we dance provides insight into our particular wounds and the masks we use to cover them. Her healing insights are very valuable and following them will set the individual on the path to complete healing and to realising their full potential. Her approach is unique and innovative and her methods of healing appeal to common sense. This is a great book to learn more about oneself and become a healthier and happier person.

I can only confirm what the two previous reviewer are stating. It is good, very deep stuff and sort of tough. But again what Ms. Bourbeau, in her spontaneous and sweet style writes, is so true. This book helps cleaning and suturing wounds ( this is the easy part ), the healing can be painful, but sure well well worthy doing it.

If the prospective reader is afraid about the content, look at it in this way: here in Oklahoma, after a grass fire, pastures are left burned and black, but grass comes back green, very green and better than before the fire.

I bought this book years ago and want to buy it again as i lost my first copy. The first time i read it, it totally opened my eyes to behaviors i couldn't explain to myself. It really helped me overcome some fears and improve on so many levels in my life. I highly recommend this book to ANYONE, as it not only helps you understand yourself but also helps you understand others. With understanding of our environment, compassion, humility comes along and peace, love flows again.

As a couselor and a past life regression therapist, I found Lise's concepts about the type of the physical body and the wounds we carry fascinating. I gave it 4 stars because the last chapter promises tips on how to heal "our type" but then it mostly goes into a summary of the types already reviewed previously in a short format. I think that this book will benefit those who need some answers about their psyche and physique rather than offer "how to" solutions to those problems. Each reader can pick out of the book this info that makes the most sence. I recomend this read.

This is such a good book. I read it through once, and now I'm starting all over with it, planning to read it again more slowly. I wish I'd have had this book 30 years ago. I started reading this book, recognizing family members and friends that I knew would treasure a copy. Much to my surprise, I began to recognize myself, in more than one chapter. I'm going to see to it that my daughter doesn't wait 30 years before she has a copy.

This book is amazing. I can relate to every wound that Lise identifies, either in myself or in friends/family. Would highly reccommend this book.

This is a short, quick place to start to look at yourself from the inside out. Not for in-depth study, but good.
