a good way to experience Raven's work in the US,

There is an edition of this book published by Barnes and Noble, so it is readily available in the states.
This is a simple guide to working with stones, and it contains many pictures that are helpful to beginners. I wouldn't reccomend this book to advanced students, except to read Hazel Raven's work. She is fabulous at what she does, and her credentials certainly reflect it.
