About the Author
John Diamond, graduated from Sydney University Medical School in 1957 and was awarded his Diploma in Psychological Medicine in 1962. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry, a Foundation Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK), and is a Fellow and past President of the International Academy of Preventive Medicine in the U.S.
Dr. Diamond has held numerous senior clinical and university teaching appointments in clinical psychiatry, basic sciences and the humanities. He is a widely respected lecturer and seminar leader and is a best-selling author.
In his 40 years of practice in medicine, psychiatry, complementary medicine and holistic healing, Dr. Diamond has increasingly recognized that there is within us a great healing force, Life Energy, which Hippocrates called the vis medicatrix naturae, the healing power of nature.
With his increasing involvement with this concept, his research has led him to concentrate on the enhancement of the sufferers Life Energy so as to actuate his own innate Healing Power.
As a Holistic Consultant, Dr. Diamond is concerned with all aspects of the totality of the sufferer, the interrelatedness and interdependence of the inseparable triune of Body, Mind and Spirit, how they relate and how all must be involved in every Healing process.
He has, for many years, also used Creativity to help sufferers, regarding it as an essential and major component of healing, and has founded The Institute for Music and Health and The Arts-Health Institute to train those interested in learning how to use the arts as a therapeutic modality.
In his teaching, writing, lectures and private practice he draws on insights from all of his experience to provide guidelines for holistic living. His approach combines the idealistic and the practical, supplying tools each individual can use in all aspects of life, both professional and personal.
