Stella Benson is the best. While recovering from surgery, I played this and found my pain greatly reduced. I teach a workshop on journaling with imaging for survivors of abuse. I usually play this when the class start their writing. I don't know for sure WHY this works, I just know it does. So many of the participants have asked for information on ordering this cd. It not only seems to heal the body, but the spirit, too. Amazingly, I have seen my bp drop while listening to this music!

There just isn't enough I can say about how wonderful the cd is.

"The freeform, non-metered playing (there is no overdubbing or accompaniment) comes as close to a harp equivalent to the likes of, say, a George Winston as I've found. ...At least as important as her musical artistry is the obvious purity of Benson's intent. I often played this CD when my infant children could not be calmed in the middle of the night. It has an immediate soothing effect. The artist has a wonderful gift in interpreting the music in a manner which calms the soul. My favorite selections on this CD are "Dum Estas Inchoatur" and "Jubilemus Exultemus".

Highly recommend this Cd. Harp music is so soothing and really interfers with stress you are experiencing...I started buying more cds of harp music. Supposedly even our four legged companions benefit from the harp's soothing sounds.

FINALLY!!! Just what I have been looking for - a MUST have for beautiful, soothing, perfect!! I am buying the second album and hoping it will live up to this one.

My daughter has severe epilepsy (seizure disorder). I received this as a gift and put it on to play. In all her nine years, my daughter has requested to listen to only three CDs...and this is the third. It hasn't stopped her seizures but it seems to make her feel better. It is calming and it helps her sleep. It makes us all feel relaxed and able to attend to our daily activities in peace. We play it in the background all the time. Highly recommended for all!

Stella Benson has created such warmth and beauty to her music, that it has prompted me to want to share my thoughts with others. From beginning to end these 2 Cd's, The Healer's Way Volumes 1 & 2 Solo Harp music , are filled with peaceful , healing and relaxing melodies . I can't imagine someone who is looking for what the titles of her cds state, calming and soothing music for anxiety and pain, not inducing the environment that allows healing to occur. If you are fond of medieval Celtic folk, then this will be an added bonus , as you are transported to another time, as you go inward with each listening. Even the pictured sleeves of these cds have been chosen wisely. Music is so important to many of our lives. If you feel this is the case with yourself and you want a balm that hopefully will assist you on your journey, then I highly recommend this series. Whether you are listening to them for meditation, bodywork, tai chi yoga etc or just for peaceful background music you will be richly rewarded . Thank you Stella I look forward to other releases.

Got both I and II for Christmas and was disappointed. The harp pieces seem random with no discernable melody lines. It's quiet but not very soothing.

I have migraines that I'm trying to control. Listening to this beautiful relaxing music always help. I've never listened to harp music before. It truly is soothing for those in serious pain. I can vouch for that personally.

I love harp music and I listened to the samples before I got it, so I knew I would like it. The reviews were encouraging as well but I wasn't really prepared for just how lovely this album is. There is some indefinable quality about it that really is soothing. The songs seem to be fairly traditional so I don't think there's anything "magic" about them ... but there's something different about this album. Maybe it's the consciousness of the harpist. I can listen to the music over and over again and not get tired of it. And it happens that I had an episode of painful sciatica shortly after getting the album, and I found that listening to the harp definitely calmed down the stressed, jangled feeling I get when I'm hurting. It's very calming. I would definitely recommend it.
