*****Awesome
I just got this book because I am looking for better ways to eat healthier. I started to read it and couldn't put it down. When was the last time you heard about someone reading a cookbook and it being so interesting and informative that they couldn't put it down? - SaltKeeper

***** Great recipes that are good for you... score!
The author spent time looking for healthier alternatives. My favorites are the chocolate peanut butter balls as my family used to always make the ones which are really bad for you. I am going to try the flourless honey almond cake soon as well. - Bryan J Bowers

***** Great Book If You Want Healthy Desserts
There are many good recipes in this book and it is one that I would recommend for anyone looking to create a healthier lifestyle. And even if you're not, there are some really interesting recipes that will be well worth trying out. I saw recipes in this book that I haven't seen anywehere else. - Marg Ruttan

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Healthy Dessert Options February 10, 2012

I have one of this author's other books called Anti-Aging Herbs : Feel Better, Live Longer and Look Younger - Includes Recipes! (Healing Foods Series) and it is excellent, so when I saw this one by her I jumped at the chance to see what she had written this time.

This dessert book is fantastic! I try to follow a gluten free diet so the Raw Coconut Date bars are perfect for me. I like the advice and tips that the author gives too.

This is different than your average dessert book because it has information on the health effects of food and she reminds her reader to think about what you are nourishing your body with.

Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious Surprise!! March 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't often write a review, but I just tried the Chocolate Avocado Puddding, and had to share my impression. The pudding was absolutely delicious! My husband, not a fan of avocados, was blown away, too. I can't wait to try other recipes. This book is a winner!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome February 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I just got this book because I am looking for better ways to eat healthier. I started to read it and couldn't put it down. When was the last time you heard about someone reading a cookbook and it being so interesting and informative that they couldn't put it down? Well you just heard it from me. I am going right out and buying both the black and white beans for brownies and if they are as good as the book says, I'll be back and write another review. As it is the book served to inspire me to adapt some of my recipes. I look forward to reading some more of this series.

As promised, I bought beans and made brownies....what a surprise. They are great.

2.0 out of 5 stars Superficially healthy March 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Wanting to find dessert-like but healthy alternatives that are low sugar, low in grains (which convert too quickly to sugars)and wanting to minimize gluten, I downloaded this. Imagine my disappointment when I found recipes little different than those in my Betty Crocker cookbooks. Apparently the author's idea of healthy means using turbinado sugar instead of the usual - but in the same large amounts.
This author also clearly does not realize that agave syrup is one of the worst "foods" to ingest as it is the only item that is almost all fructose (low glycemic only because meters measure only glucose, not fructose so it's poison for diabetics!)Used in several of the recipes. There is nothing new or creative in these receipes, just an attempt to insert the current buzz words.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am Amazed! February 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I know that these recipes are healthy, but they are really delicious, too, I love frozen yogurt and the berry frozen yogurt will be in my freezer soon. I must try the chocolate avocado pudding and the bean brownies. The recipes are well written and easy to follow, although some of the ingredients are unusual for the average kitchen.
Buy this book and add to you cookbook collection for the unusual recipes.

I have always had a sweet tooth. Love these recipes as I no longer feel as guilty having nice food for dessert. Nutritional info on each item gets an extra tick too. My fave is the berry frozen yoghurt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book If You Want Healthy Desserts February 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While I, personally, don't normally cook without flour and sugar, I have been known to do so at times. Having read this cookbook from beginning to end, I can say that these recipes are easy to prepare and are certainly on the healthy side. I definitely will be making the Black Bean Brownies just because they sound so interesting. And I also want to make the Chocolate Zucchini Bread, but I'll replace the turbinado sugar with regular sugar and will use regular vegetable oil for the coconut oil. I think the bread will be just as good either way, it's just a matter of preference.

There are many good recipes in this book and it is one that I would recommend for anyone looking to create a healthier lifestyle. And even if you're not, there are some really interesting recipes that will be well worth trying out. I saw recipes in this book that I haven't seen anywehere else.

More About the Author

When I got into my mid 30's I noticed that I lost a lot of my energy and zest. I was moody, tired and not really enjoying life that much. Little did I know, it had a LOT to do with what I was eating. Once I discovered that you really are what you eat, I started a lifelong journey in studying different foods, herbs and spices and how they could improve your health. My books are a culmination of what I have learned through study as well as trial and error. I have written them for you in the hopes that you, too, can improve your health and enjoy life more simply by eating delicious and healthy food!
