Book Description

December 1, 1995
"This book deserves exceptional praise. It presents, in a highly readable form, the cutting edge of sound, scientifically based knowledge in an area traditionally beset by myth, quackery, and pseudoscience." —Peter G. Bourne, M.D., Chairman of the Board, American Association for World Health In the barrage of nutrition advice we hear each day —cut fat, use less salt, eat more fiber —one crucial fact gets lost: What is good for one person may not be good for another. The Healing Diet gives you all the information you need to create a nutrition program tailored to your personal needs. In an easy-to-follow style, it tells you:
  • How to create a family medical tree
  • How to use that information to create a diet tailored to your personal needs
Included are specific guidelines and nutrition plans for a variety of special needs: heart disease • hypertension • obesity • alcoholism diabetes • cancer • food allergies A solid blend of scientific information with sound, practical advice makes The Healing Diet an invaluable tool for anyone interested in eating right, feeling good, and living longer.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

With all the talk about "genetic risk" and family history for disease in the news these days, it's easy to be confused. This book explains what those concepts mean. How human beings in different cultures have adapted to their environments. Included is a questionnaire designed to ferret out your own genetic history. Armed with an understanding of your own personal physiology, you can design your own nutritional plan.
