5.0 out of 5 stars Many options to choose from
This is by far one of, if not the best book on dealing with fibroids naturally...the list is endless(and sometimes confusing) about herbal teas and vitamins...but definitely an eye opener in the world of choices..for those of us women who want surgery as an absolute last resort, and who want to shrink or stop growth or even prevent reoccurence of fibroids..this book...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Information
I like the book, but honestly I expected a little more. The book is with no doubt, an excellent source of general information about Fibroids. And the most complete one, that I have read so far. I believe my frustration is more regarding the title that has been given to it, which may lead you to think you are purchasing a real step-by-step "guide" to be followed towards...

This is by far one of, if not the best book on dealing with fibroids naturally...the list is endless(and sometimes confusing) about herbal teas and vitamins...but definitely an eye opener in the world of choices..for those of us women who want surgery as an absolute last resort, and who want to shrink or stop growth or even prevent reoccurence of fibroids..this book details not only with holistic and natural approaches to dealing with fibroids, it also gets to the root of the problem, liver detox, hormone imbalance, ect..and explains how surgery is not always the answer as even after surgery fibroids can return...Dr. Warshowsky gets to the nitty gritty as to why the system(organs) are off balance as to create these little buggers in the first place...not saying this will be the cure for all but look into it and try some of these natural healing ways...

5.0 out of 5 stars AUTHENTIC HOLISTIC HEALING, September 1, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Healing Fibroids: A Doctor's Guide to a Natural Cure (Paperback)
I'm thrilled that a conventionally trained MD-gynecologist is as knowledgeable about alternative medical approaches as Dr. Warshowsky is, and that he has made his knowledge available to the public. When a family member was diagnosed with endometrial cancer some years ago, I discovered how overwhelming the world of alternative medicine is, and how hard it is to find physicians who are adept at combining their conventional training with the vast array of alternative approaches that are out there. I wish there were more physicians like Dr. Warshowsky who can help patients navigate through the maze of conventional and alternative treatments and map out a clear and helpful holistic program. I love how he addresses emotional and spiritual issues (not just physical) and how he doesn't see a woman's uterus as some kind of disconnected organ acting of its own volition. but rather as a symptom of a broader imbalance that must be addressed holistically. But he is also totally scientific and not "touchy-feely," which is an unusual balance. I hope he will go on to write a series of books about women's health issues. He has contributed a chapter to another book about cervical disease and the HPV virus (WOMEN AT RISK) and that's a great book too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Info. for Taking Action, June 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Healing Fibroids: A Doctor's Guide to a Natural Cure (Paperback)
This book is the best, most informative book I've read on my newly discovered condition (and believe me I have read a lot). It gives very practical information especially with regard to diet. It was a little bit lacking in the last chapter "Putting Your Own Healing Program Together," as well as the parts about exercise and meditation. But for diet alone, this book is well worth it and you'll know what to do on your own as well as with the help of a practitioner.

This review is from: Healing Fibroids: A Doctor's Guide to a Natural Cure (Paperback)
I like the book, but honestly I expected a little more. The book is with no doubt, an excellent source of general information about Fibroids. And the most complete one, that I have read so far. I believe my frustration is more regarding the title that has been given to it, which may lead you to think you are purchasing a real step-by-step "guide" to be followed towards the healing of fibroids. This doesn't happen. The information is indeed awakening and very helpfull, but it's all in a very general way. He explains each one of surgery procedures and their pros and cons, and he keeps on explaining about food, herbs, suplements, exercises, and their importance on the healing process, but do not expect a real "guidance" on a daily basis, like how much of each you are supposed to have. I like the book, because it gave me a different perspective. Now I know I have other options rather than surgery only, but it is really something you should look for a natural or holistic doctor (which he suggests and gives a list of names and phone #s) in order to start a proper natural healing treatment that will suit you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent & balanced resource, October 12, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Healing Fibroids: A Doctor's Guide to a Natural Cure (Paperback)
This is a really great guide to dealing with fibroids and it gives you a wide variety of options in dealing with this condition. I agree that it is very balanced between scientific and holistic methods of healing. However, I do think you need to read this book AND then go to a healing practitioner (MD, nurse practioner or alternative practitioner) who has experience in dealing holistically with fibroids to guide you in what is best for you. But this book is a wonderful educational resource and guide and I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Answer to a Nightmare, March 9, 2009

This book fully addressed my symptoms, causes and treatment. I felt so empowered after reading this book. My Dr. suggested that I have my uterus removed, but the information supplied gave me the alternatives I needed. I have to live with this problem and the treatment, so I was able to chose the method that I could best live with. My fibroids are huge 9.4cm, 7.1cm & 7.3cm, but I'm following the advise listed and have had success. Thank you so much for this wonderful publication. As a black women, fibroids run in my family. I'm so happy to be the one to help the younger ones know how to avoid suffering what I'm going through, and assist the older family members on how to cope/shrink them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent, October 4, 2006
This review is from: Healing Fibroids: A Doctor's Guide to a Natural Cure (Paperback)
Excelent book. I was looking for a book about fibroids after 6 doctors recommend surgery (Hysterectomy), and I was glad I found this book. It explain more about our bodys and what increases our chances with fibroids than any other reference material I came across so far. I was almost given up, but I decide to keep fight and changed some important things (like food and relaxation). I have an herb garden now. A must have for anyone who have to face the problem of fibroids.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book, September 22, 2006

I was resigned to what my doctor told me was the only alternative-surgery. This book gave me hope and totally changed the coarse of my life. I learned not only about my fibroid condition, but about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle generally. It brought me to yoga, which I'm now absolutely hooked on. It turned my fibroid misery into a kind a blessing in disguise. I wish I had read this book years ago, but, better late than never. One year after deciding not to have surgery because of reading this book, the fibroid is still there, but I'm starting to reread Warshowsky's book to get reinspired for the year ahead, and rededicate myself to the ideas inside.

I haven't read this book, so maybe amazon will take this off, but I wanted women to know that I had a horribly painful fibriod and I completely cured it and the pain with homeopathy. Try sabine. It was like a miracle.

This review is from: Healing Fibroids: A Doctor's Guide to a Natural Cure (Paperback)
It's a wonderful compilation of information about the female body and fibroids in specific. It's also a great inspiration for getting healthier and finding alternative ways to deal with fibroids yourself and with your physician.
