This book outlines in detail the exact protocol used at the famed Gerson clinic in Mexico. The key centerpiece of the treatment is a vegetarian diet with no dairy, no soy and no fried foods. This alone cures loads of problems as long as you emphasize organic foods, juicing and proper food combining. The book goes into much greater detail and covers all the nuances of the treatment. It's well worth the money. The basic diet guidelines eliminate 95% of health problems like migraines, allergies, obesity, acne, depression and you name it. This is the reason why Dr Max Gerson was given such a hard time. He would have put hospitals out of business if he was allowed to continue.

This text on the Gerson protocol is one of the best health books I have read in recent years. It is clearly written, easy to follow, and filled with valuable information. The instructions for following the protocol are concise and understandable. The recipes, too, are plentiful--having tried several already, I've found that they are delicious. Excellent book all around.

I noticed, though, that sooo many people are paying tons of money for their juicers, with some not being able to take advantage of this remarkable therapy because of costs. I would HIGHLY recommend the Juice Daddy Juicer, promoted by Jay Kordich ([...]).

Jay Kordich was actually one the many cancer patients cured by Dr. Max Gerson in the 1940's: he was only 22 yrs. old and was diagnosed with bladder cancer; the only treatments at that time were surgery and cobalt. He remembered hearing about Gerson curing Dr. Albert Schweitzer, so Kordich hitchhiked to NY to become one of Dr. Gerson's patients. He's now in his 80's, and looks great!! After watching the DVD "A Beautiful Truth" last December (2009) and seeing and hearing Jay Kordich speak in that documentary, we purchased the original Juice Daddy juicer. We liked it so much that a month or two later we bought 2 more--one for use at our second home, and one for my brother. We just bought two more as Christmas gifts for others this year (2010)!

The original Juice Daddy is approx. $100; there is now a new juicer available with a blender attachment for approx. $150. I got one of each of these for the Christmas gifts for others. If you don't have a blender, then I think the new one is a very good idea... We juice every day at least 1 time! Our Juice Daddy doesn't even look worn... My brother's is also still working fine after a year. These juicers are stainless steel, have very powerful motors, two speeds, and just work!

Hope this helps those of you who are interested in the Gerson Therapy, but who don't have a ton of money to spend. Get one from Jay Kordich--a person actually CURED from cancer by the Gerson Therapy, who is vibrant and happy 65+ years later! I'm not being paid to post this, and I have NO financial or other association with Gersons or Jay Kordich... Just someone trying to help others... God bless!

My husband and I just purchased this book and have been implementing it's ideas slowly. Which is a good thing, and I highly recommend that you do as well. Do not attempt to do everything all at once.

We thought my husband had a severe reaction to taking one 325mg capsule of Pancreatin (digestive enzymes: Protease, Amylase, and Lipase), this was his first time ever taking this supplement. However, he did not. It ended up only being the niacin flush. The niacin flush can behave much like an allergic reaction. We are very glad it was only the niacin. Although after some research online there have been many cases of people who are in fact allergic to Pancreatin!!! Unfortunately in the book it never says that this type of allergic reaction is a possibility. It only says that "Some patients cannot tolerate Pancreatin and have to do without it." If you are considering trying this plan for healing cancer, or simply for overall health (like us), then I highly recommend that you start adding things slowly (one at a time). Even as simple as adding foods you may have never had before. Just to make sure there are no allergies to these things.

Also be cautious with the enemas. Electrolytes can be thrown off balance quite easily with laxatives and enemas, etc. The body is very very strict about electrolyte balance. Also do remember that foods such as tomatoes are naturally higher in sodium (which are included in the "special soup" on the Gerson plan), so you will be getting sodium on this meal plan. It is very important to be getting all of the juices and potassium when doing the enemas. Check out wikipedia for more information on electrolyte homeostasis.

Also...be gentle when inserting the tube. If the tube is poking you and it is painful stop and try to reposition. This should not be painful. If you are feeling resistance stop, let some coffee go in, and then see if that helps let you ease it in the rest of the way.

If you are interested in what nutrients are found in your foods and the nutrients that are going to be found in the foods on this plan, you may want to look into this book "Nutrients in Food" by Elizabeth S. Hands. This book will give you detailed information on the sodium, potassium, protein, fat, etc. found in food. We have found it to be very helpful.

Overall, we would definitely recommend this book and plan to anyone wanting to detoxify and heal their bodies. Just going organic has made a world of difference. When we do the plan consistently/fully, we have more energy and we feel better than when we don't.

Bottom line... we feel great!

I read the Gerson Therapy at the same time and yes there are some duplicate material but both books approach the information differently. We are juicing now and transitioning into an eventual vegetarian lifestyle. We weren't ill, we just wanted to get the information and adjust our lifestyles to increased health.

Although this book is pricey, I strongly suggest it if you are debating buying it. It is FULL
of awesome advice, recipes and information to help yourself and your family.

This book is a real eye opener for many americans. We are getting to far from mother nature and the
healing food can give us naturally. Many of us put all of our control into the hands of doctors/pills
instead of educating and helping ourselves.

For any of you who have netflix online, they have some Gerson videos to watch for free,
well worth it.

This book is one that we lean on a lot for my wife's cancer. It has instilled real hope in us over this dreaded disease. We have also read other books and have done a lot of Google searching, but this book sets the standard, we believe.

I do believe that Gerson is an excellent and workable therapy. However, I caution Stage IV cancer patients - that is a cancer that has metasticized (spread) to distant places on the body; especially fast spreading cancers.

This type of cancer needs aggressive and fast action or you are dead. I don't believe that you have time to play around with the Gerson, slow acting juices, diet and supplements as your only means. Although there are testimonials that say that it worked for them at this stage, they leave out all the testimonials of the stage iv people that died playing around with it.

You need agents that will go after and kill the cancer and try to push it back to stage III or lower where then you will have time to switch to a full Gerson program. Even go down there for their 3 to 6 weeks on site training if you can.

Such cancer killing agents are: Cessium Chloride, Hydrazine Sulfate, DCA, Essiac, Graviola, ozone, peroxide, Hyperberic Oxygen, Microhydrin, tumeric, budwig diet of flax oil/cottege cheese, hyperthermia, chaga mushroom, immune modulation, fucoidan, Mistletoe, Astragalus, iv Dmso with vitamin c and latetrille, anteneoplastans, the GB-4000 "frequency generator, and many more etc, (search web)

If you have the money, you'd best go to one of these large Alternative cancer centers around the U.S., Mexico (better), or Germany (Germany) and I also recommend spending a week or two at the Gerson clinic and get hands on training in how to normalize your body. If you don't have the bucks, read carefully on the above, buy book or videos and try to do some locally. They are workable options.

I don't suggest you do chemo from conventional Oncology Doctors or therapists if you have stage iv or if you have any stage of cancer. Your immune system will be destroyed and even if the chemo temporarily puts the cancer into remission, it will grow back with a vengeance and in multiple places. You cannot beat cancer this way. Because the immune system was damaged by chemo or radiation and it will be difficult to stop the cancer now - unless you repair the body. And because your body is still a sewer for rats - you have to alkaline and oxygenate it and flood it with enzymes to start breaking down the outer shell, force field, of the cancer so your immune system can finish it off. If you decide that you want to do the 100% strength chemo and/or radiation, then maybe, short term survival can be prolonged if you survive these toxic therapies.

I would also look into the Purification Rundown. It's a 100% detoxifying program to rid your body of toxins, drugs, radiation and other toxins. It is the best detoxification system in the world in my opinion and most cities in the U.S. and the world have centers that administer it. If you fully detoxify, your immune system will be able to better handle the assault from the cancer enemy. It is simply a high heat sauna, contains certain critical high dose vitamins in the correct dose and exercise to move them into the circulation. It's simple but effective. If I had cancer, this would be high on my priority list.

The point is Kill the cancer cells before they eat through you into your heart or brain and kill you. At the same time doing this, you can use a full or modified (lower gradient) version of the Gerson Diet - use the juices, the foods, nutriets, etc.. And then when your cancer falls to a stage III or below, (preferably below) by all means use the full version of the Gerson diet. Monitor your cancer through diagnostic testing. If it gets worse, switch back to stage Iv emergency protocol described above.

Note: I've read that the Gerson center won't accept you while you are doing chemo. (it's too toxic and is the reverse of the Gerson philosophy)

Note II: if anyone out there is entertaining using negative field magnets to reverse cancer - don't do it because they don't work regardless of all the hype you read. That hype is an attempt to sell magnetic products. Magnets are good for inflamation and pain, but not for cancer. Your cancer will metasticize and laugh at the magnets. If you could find magnets maybe 100,000 gauss or more, maybe i'd have a different opinion. If you want to try to work with magnets, and don't believe me, then do it for a month and see what happens. If the tumor grows to any degree - stop and do the above explained. But don't rely soley on magnets or any one therapy to combat cancer or you will be making a fatal mistake. You must combat cancer with multiple modalities - they are very strong cells and you must kill them until every last one of them is so dead that they don't even have enough energy to go back to hell where they came from.

Gerson was a true genius! Anyone who wants to take control of their health should read this. It's time for people to wake up and realize something is terribly wrong. Too many people are dying of cancer including CHILDREN! We must take responsibility and see what is going wrong. Pesticides and poisons used in our environment will eventually make their way back into our bodies and we will suffer with their disease. We must reverse this before it's too late and start thinking more about what we are doing. We need more small farms and businesses here with caring people instead of big business who only care about their profits and not about people's health.

Think about what you eat and what you buy. Ask yourself;"where did it come from" and "How was it grown or made"? The answers to these questions will tell you if it's safe or not.

I bought this book in January and started following the protocol. I was suffering from IBS, cronic fatigue, and other ailments. I was on six different medications and after a few short weeks I was off all of my medications. I spent the last several years enduring test after test looking for the cause and cure. Scopes in every which way only to be told there was NO CURE only management with pills. Thank you Charlotte Gerson for writing such an easy to understand and follow guide book for the Gerson Therapy that we can all understand. Thank you for keeping your father's brilliant work alive.
