Book Description

October 27, 1996 0965157601 978-0965157605
Healing Grief tells the story of one woman whose journey takes her from tragedy to a new vision of her life's meaning and a reinvestment in joy. When her 15 year old son, Mike, died suddenly Rosalie was thrust into grief and a world she had no preparation for. All she wanted were mother's stories to give her hope. She found none. Her own journal became this book.

This book offers practical dynamics for coping with the sudden death of a child, wisdom from the inspirited, and fresh insights into each stage of grief. It is not only for parents who are actively grieving but for anyone who wonders about the meaning of dreams, inexplicable impressions, death, and life itself.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"An inspiring story of 'unseen connections' that bridge life and death." -- Sheryle Baker, MA Executive Director, The LIFE Center

"Not since Gilgamesh have we had such a detailed map of the bewildering territory of grief. Rosalie Deer Heart's gift is the assurance that we need never again go this way alone." -- author of The Melancholy of Departure Alfred DePew

5.0 out of 5 stars A journey from pain into profound healing, July 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Healing Grief - A Mothers Story (Paperback)
Rosalie Deer Heart takes us on a journey through pain, bereavement and bewilderment into a deep spiritual awakening. Of interest to those who have gone through grief for loved ones and have wondered what is possible after one crosses the veil of death. Also for readers who are interested in seriously living a spiritual life and learning to recognize and work with noncorporeal guides, some of whom may turn out to be very familiar! A very positive, warm, and heartening book that gives hope and presents the afterlife as yet another stage in life's journey. A true book by a woman of integrity and courage.
