Great Music Brings Spirit of Peace from Middle East,
By Harmony (Pacific Northwest) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Healing the Holy Land (Audio CD)
Where else can you hear Jewish, Christian and Muslim music all together in one amazing album? Dean and Dudley Evenson have done it again bringing all this great music together in a fantastic compilation that really gives a person hope for peace in the Middle East. And it's a high energy world music mix that really moves the spirit. The chants by Jai Uttal, Azam Ali, Lydia McCauley and Gina Salá really soar. It's a welcome followup to their albums Prayer (which even has a track by the Dalai Lama) and Sacred World Chants that features Deva Premal, Sophia and Snatam Kaur among many others. Spread the word. We need more of this kind of musical statement.

I am always on the hunt for good music for my yoga classes and Dean Evenson is a staple around here. This CD is really amazing - the theme revolves around sacred music and chants focused on the Middle East. If their intention was to bring together different artists in one place to create world harmony, not sure if they accomplished that agenda -but what they did accomplish was producing a spell binding and beautiful CD that fills the whole room with a peaceful and spiritual vibe. I love using this CD in practice and students have commented on how relaxed it makes them feel.
