This book tells a story of a doctor who saw a woman dead inside and this woman's struggle to uncover her past sexual abuse & the shame behind her eating disorder. The book gives both a narrative story but also a great explainational understanding from a doctor's perspective of the link between eating disorders & sexual abuse. It was very helpful in understanding another persons story & feeling as though you were right there experiencing her recovery & knowing that if she was able to resolve her past pain, then others too could uncover the past abuse & their eating disorder. This book is like no other self help or biographical abuse or eating disorder story. It lets the reader be a fly on the wall and gain a new perspective of the recovery.
