More About the Author

Gerald Epstein, M.D., has been a pioneer in the use of mental imagery for treating physical and emotional problems. With more that 25 years of training in the mind, he is a leading proponent of the Western spiritual tradition and its application to healing and therapeutics. Dr. Epstein maintains a private practice in New York City and is a clinical professor of psychiatry at New York's Mt. Sinai Medical Center. He has lectured and taught worldwide and is the director of the American Institute for Mental Imagery (AIMI), a post-graduate training center in imagination for licensed mental health professionals. He is also the recipient of a National Institutes of Health Grant in Alternative Medicine to research the effects of mental imagery in the treatment of bronchial asthma. He has authored several mental imagery classic books and cds including: Healing Visualizations: Creating Health Through Imagery, Healing Into Immortality, The Phoenix Process, Kabbalah For Inner Peace and The Natural Laws of Self-Healing.

Gerald Epstein is among the leading authorities on mental imagery and its relation to physical health. This book lucidly articulates how the mind is responsible for the health of the body. As we use the healing powers of the imagination, the body is restored to its pristine state. He gives many wonderful exercises geared towards different physical ailments, in addition to many personal testimonials concerning the efficacy of imagery for physical health. According to Dr. Epstein, eventually, using imagery, we can overcome death itself using our own innate imaginative capacity. I benefit tremendously from these exercises, in physical and spiritual ways. His imagery helped heal my face after a horrible accident, and now I look completely normal. It also helped me find wholeness within myself, here and now.
