A mandala, or mystic circle, is an ancient art form that creates a sacred space. Gazing on a mandala, we are led on a journey to an inner center. The Healing Mandalas in this calendar are assembled entirely from photographs of natural elements. Artists Bell & Todd digitally remix these elements, transforming them into living collages. These images express the uplifting power of mandalas in a unique modern form. In the center of each mandala, you see the Earth in cosmic form with a corona of seashells. This celestial globe is set on a circle of elements such as flowers, shells, plants and butterflies. Behind the central circle a second element forms a square, creating a colorful synergy. When we contemplate these visions, we strengthen our inherent ability to come into balance. Personal and planetary harmony are intimately linked. These twelve mandalas are part of a series that began in 2009 and will culminate in 2012. The images and meditations are designed to support the emergence of a world of beauty. Through these Healing Mandalas, the Earth extends an invitation: Receive healing, build harmony on our planet.

I've long been a fan of Bonnie and Todd Bell's mandalas created from nature's beautiful objects:
flowers, rocks, gems, shells, feathers, berries, etc..This year's calendar is exquisite. There is something magical and mystical about their creations and after the year is over, I use the images in my meditation space. The energy created by each image is uplifting and healing. If you live with them for awhile, you'll see how they lighten your mood.
