I'd give it ten stars if I could.
Start reading the primers like Eldredege & Bly, and when you are ready to move to a deeper level, it's time for Healing the Masculine Soul. To be frank, the title scared me. I knew I was in pain, but the title didn't smack of something a MAN would read. The Lord was patient and brought me to the place where I needed to hear the messages of this work.

Careful, Gordon is deep. His sentences are all thoughts that need examination. I tend to think more in streams of consciousness, but this work was good for me. It gives you an understanding of how every man is wounded; How we all need masculine love, even if it is scary to us. It also illuminates that we are all in need of our True Father's touch, love, and guidance.

Dalbey I believe was used by the Lord "BIG TIME" in writing this. The premise is that we as men need something and we need to be pointed back to DADDY IN HEAVEN. My wife also found it incredibly healing in the chapter dealing with fathers & daughters

Get it, read it, and let it's God inspired words lead you to a transformation in Masculinity. There's not a lot of better words for men out there, other than sitting in the lap of your Almighty Father, and letting him speak to you.

When I first started reading this title, I thought it would be little more than a lengthy discourse on meaningless psycho-babble regarding men and their many emotional shortcomings. It began slowly, but as I continued following the author's progression of thought, I understood that many of his concepts and ideas ring true. While he is a little too light on Scripture and a little too heavy on psychological theory, he still makes many good points for Christian men in today's society.

There are helpful insights here -- it will prove to be a good read for many Christian men.

I bought this book for my husband, but I was the one who ended up reading it. I was intrigued by the insight into men and think every woman should read this book in order to pray for their husbands and son's more effectively. I believe this author has keen insight and wisdom straight from the Father's heart and he truly understands the male's soul. What a tremendous book that contains so much healing. Truly this should be read by men to set them free from the lies of society that try to dictate what a man is and read by women to gain greater insight into the men in their lives. Great book and I highly recommend it!

This is an absolutely amazing book. It should be required reading for young men and all Godly men. Too often today men are pulled in a million different directions in terms of what makes a "real man". Hollywood's macho version is unrealistic and the call for a "sensitive man" leaves men more like women than anything else. This book helps men understand their own brokenness and the need for healing before we even address areas of sexuality, leadership, and child rearing.

A fantastic resource that should be read and studied and handed down from generation to generation.

This book is a must read for any man who wishes to be a whole man for his woman. It effectively explains why we men do what we do and how to fix us. The book will help American men restore the American family. In the end it is the one book that has help set the foundation of my masculine identity. Now I can be the man I need to be for my wife. I'm more balanced and sure of my identity than I have ever been.

Wow ... if there were a six-star option I would use it here. If you are a man, read this book. If you are a wife or mother or in any other way love a man, read this book.

Mr. Dalbey, with great credibility, lays out a case that explains why we are so lost as men today. If you don't think you are, but have the courage to explore the possibility, then read this book anyway. Both culturally and personally, the author teaches us why we stumble so easily and then he reaches out and tells us how to begin the process of change for our relationships and communities. It doesn't matter if you are Christian, Jew, agnostic or atheist. If you have a concern for the direction of our families and our culture, if you have a history of troubled relationships, if you lack for male friendships, if you want to break the cycle with your children, (pick your own cycle -- you probably are perpetuating one or more) especially with your son, and equip them to soar in this world, you must read this book. This is not just another psycho-speak, self-help book. Buy an extra highliter. You'll need it.

A refreshing portrait of the soul of man. This book provides the tool kit for rebuilding our hearts, and restoring our souls. The healing sword of Gods word is used with precision to cut away decades of the American man's sinful fall into passivity.

I received this item before the anticipated delivery date. This makes a good book for a Men's Ministry study group, and also a good book for personal devotion, to help heal the wounds of growing up without a father, divorce, molestation, etc. I'd like to encourage men who have gone through some major suffering in their lives to read this book, and spend time in prayer and meditation. Gordon Dalbey does a great job of hitting on key issues of masculinity, without making excuses for some of the fundamental issues of our generation. It's a refreshing look at the beauty of the strength inherent in maleness. A great, nonjudgmental call to revisit our masculinity and embrace it. His writing flows very nicely and makes the book a satisfying read.

Loved this book so much I passed out copies to my friends. Gordon Dalbey shares a lot of good insight about the masculine soul.
