I recommend this book for everyone suffering from MS. I was diagnosed with MS 12 years ago (at age 17), and this was the first time I actually received hope that my condition could improve. Since I've been following her program layed out in the book (9 weeks in now), I have felt a wonderful improvement in my condition which is more than any of the FDA approved drugs gave me. I will continue on this program and pray for the same success the author experienced. If you have MS or know anyone that does, get this book!!!!

every disease is caused by candida,
This review is from: Healing Multiple Sclerosis: Diet, Detox & Nutritional Makeover for Total Recovery (Paperback)
As someone living with MS I found this book good at laying the foundations for overall good health but lacking in specific breakthroughs where MS is concerned. Ann Bourough is brilliant at providing tips and structure for total wellness. Her recommendations for mental/spritual healing are great. The strongest point of the book shows the digestive connections to auto immune phenomenea. But I feel faulted when she places all her eggs in the yeast/fungal basket. Information about DR. Swank, Judy Grahm,Vitamin D,Dr. Neiper, Intravenous oxegen therapy could have helped to balance this couragous womans effort. Sala

We must consider what we write.....,
By Ondine Vuillard "Ondine" (New York City, New York, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Healing Multiple Sclerosis: Diet, Detox & Nutritional Makeover for Total Recovery (Paperback)
I appreciate everyone's optimism and exuberance about this book. I am a 43 year old woman that has been diagnosed with MS since 1995. Not as long as the author, yet considering I was a quadriplegic for 3 months in '99 I feel it is within my rights to comment. I am now fully ambulatory, no one would have a clue I am struggling with a chronic illness if they were to see me during an up time, which is often, but never as up as I was prior diagnosis. I must ask all of you, author included, to desist in stating that this diet will 'cure' MS. There is currently no cure. Period. Of course, healthy living helps, that is obvious.......But have you considered how it might it make people feel that have tried every book and diet and treatment and nothing is seems to improve their condition or stop progression? This disease has truly horrific potential, fortunately for those of us that have R/R we have some hope for remission, yet not a 'cure'. No 'cure' insight, may I add. This disease is insidious. You simply never know what will happen next, possibly nothing, no one knows. Please do not add insult to injury, please. Mental attitude is so very important, let us support and be considerate to the individuals out there that have not been able to go into 'remission', regardless of diet or supplements.Libre de esclerosis multiple/ Healing Multiple Sclerosis

I am a wheelchair-bound MS patient who has tried everything. Since following Ann's program faithfully, I am doing much better. The die-off period is very tough, but stick with the program!

A "MUST READ" for anyone with autoimmune disease.,
This review is from: Healing Multiple Sclerosis: Diet, Detox & Nutritional Makeover for Total Recovery (Paperback)
Although I do not have MS, I was impressed to purchase a copy of this book and am so glad that I did. I suffer from another autoimmune disease, Graves Disease, and have been studying about the yeast connection and poor health for some time. I have read several books and articles and discussed the topic with various doctors and am confidant that it is a VERY real problem for many, especially those with autoimmune disease! I believe that Ann has provided the most comprehensive information on how to address this difficult problem, by providing detailed information about cleansing as well as sharing many helpful tools to support the body through detox and healing. Ann's story is inspirational, giving others the HOPE that they too can conquer disease in their own bodies. Despite the fact that traditional medicine does not yet fully recognize the yeast connection as being a very real problem for MANY people, I believe that we owe it to ourselves to STUDY and LEARN all we can about it and make the judgment for ourselves. There is no question that following the diet and detox is very difficult, but Ann's book offers the tools and hope necessary to help you along the way and bring you to a new level of health that you never thought possible.

I would just like to say that after reading Ann's book it gave hope to me too continue on the path I set out on.
June 23, 2003 I was told I had MS. MRI"S after MRI's and a spinal tap, Went to Mayo Clinic for a second opinion, As I approached My 3rd Neurologist(due to 1 retiring 3 weeks after dx., and 1 ego-centered jerk!) I decided to approach the disease my way. This new Dr. said she understood my approach(DRUG-FREE), yes I decided not to take any immuno-therapy drugs... I took steroids upon initial attack, I was after all paralyzed from the breast bone down. After that I refused to take drugs, read anything and everything I could get my eyes on. I am now approaching my 7 year anniversary, Yes, I celebrate every year that I can move, have never had another attack and have never been healthier!!! Thanks to My hard work lifestyle changes and I TRUELY believe that not taking Any DRUGS made me better, they make you worse. I will go too my grave believing this. Even my Dr. finds it hard to believe! Thank you Ann for your wisdom and encouragement and the Book, I reccommend to all I know with this illness. Afterall if everyone followed the book and refused drugs, Dr's would be out of work, they want you to have symptoms to write RX"S for and office visits for you to make and they don't want to "CURE" anything, We did!!!!!! By the way I'm female and almost 42 yrs. old.

HOPE,
This review is from: Healing Multiple Sclerosis: Diet, Detox & Nutritional Makeover for Total Recovery (Paperback)
I've lived with MS for over twenty years. I'm 43, and this is the first book I've read that offers hope. It also gives you information that tries to connect the dots, and gives a new direction for treatment. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has MS, either newly diagnosed or someone like me.

I bought this book for a friend, who, within 6 weeks, has seen a positive difference in her recovery. It is easy reading, and a great way to gain a new outlook on the disease.

This is the most amazing book I've read regarding health issues. I've met with Ann in person and she is a lovely, knowledgeable, and caring person, and it translated beautifully into her new book. This book is not
just for people who have MS, but for anyone who cares about their health now and in the future - it is a MUST read!!!! I've been following many of the suggestions she has provided and it definitely has changed my life on a daily basis. Since Ann has personally experienced such triumph over extreme diversity makes it even a more commanding read and fully confident she knows what she is writing about!!! Thank you Ann for providing this book to all those who care about their bodies and for the detailed information to make our lives better and more enjoyable each day. Vicki Malone, Florence, OR.

"Medical Intuitive" ???,
This review is from: Healing Multiple Sclerosis: Diet, Detox & Nutritional Makeover for Total Recovery (Paperback)
I was recently told I probably have MS (all signs and symptoms point that way but I do not have money for an MRI). Naturally I began to do some research. I am not a believer in prescription meds (in general) so all the talk of meds in the books I was reading did not encourage me in the least bit. I was excited to see the title of this book in the library search engine. I put it on hold and anxiously waited for it to come. Yesterday was the day and I got right to reading. Much to my disappointment, the FOUNDATION of the beliefs in this book are based on what a "medical intuitive" said to the author. If you are like me, I was a bit skeptical and the term 'intuitive' set off red flags. I did a google search for it and there is a whole wiki page devoted to the term. Here are the first two lines from wiki:
A medical intuitive is an alternative medicine practitioner who uses their self described intuitive abilities to find the cause of a physical or emotional condition. Other terms for this practice include medical clairvoyant, medical psychic or intuitive counselor. Did you catch that? This is pure new age fantasy. This woman is putting her faith (and money) in this medical intuitive quack and then selling a book filled with great claims based on what this quack has counseled her. :( But please do adopt a healthy diet. I think it is very wise to cut the sugar, cut the refined foods, cut the dairy, eat as much raw, unprocessed fruits and veggies as you can each day, a little good fat, etc. In general, people in this country have a love of food ... BAD food. Eat to live, do not live to eat. Food is fuel and nutrition for your body; do not think that you can properly fuel and care for your body with junk. We must each do all we can and not just sit back and hope the drugs do something for us. I have a dear friend with MS and she is drug free. I am blessed to have her in my life as an encouragement during this time. If anyone with MS has a good (sound) book suggestion for helping MS naturally, please let me know. joannesmith6819 at g mail |
