If you have lost a child I highly recommend this as the first book you read.it is in short snippets so you can easily focus on what is being said it also lists some things to do immediately following the death of your child to help you remember things. THE MOST HELPFUL USEFUL BOOK I GOT when my child passed away.

This book helped me so very much that I now send to everyone I know that has lost a child. This is my way of contributing to a parent where no words can be consoling. The guildlines in this book are easily read and can be applied to ones self during the wretched time of loss. It also has a daily affirmation that in itself is uplifting.

I lost my youngest son (46) last Sept. 5th. I had no idea as to how I was to act from that day forward. This book helped me to understand that what I was feeling and doing was okay. Some of the healing they talked about in the book I found I had already by passed, however, I'm still thankful I got this book. The book hits on things that I had no idea I would be going through or coming up against. The holidays were just what the book said....hard. It told me how to except what was going on and not be ashamed of my emotions.
I'm keeping this book close so I can reread it again. Even though my son isn't as young as most books talk about, he still has the same effect on me that the parents who lost their children at a younger/much younger age. I hope you will get this book and find things in it that you and I didn't think about would happen after the death of our child.

I lost my son to suicide last year and have read many books on the topic. I got sort of "stuck" in my grieving and needed something to help me move forward. I liked this book because it has great ideas for getting through one day at a time and making positive forward progress. The chapters are short and easy to digest. It was a comfort to read in a time of sorrow. And I know I can go back to it if I get "stuck" again, to look for a new idea I haven't tried yet.

I really didn't know if this book would help me. Having lost my son a little over 2 years ago, I am looking for anything that may help me. This book did give me some nice ideas, and comforting words.

Never really dealt with it. Going through the motions. Thank you
