Book Description

November 17, 2008
Faeries, gnomes, elves, and sprites have been a part of ancient Celtic lore for centuries. These nature spirits protect and offer guidance to those who truly believe in their power. This book explores the mystical world of the Fey (nature spirits and guardians) and provides training to become a Faery shaman. Readers learn how to use the energy of nature spirits to heal their bodies, minds, and hearts. This complete guide illustrates the journey to becoming a Faery shaman, offers tips to strengthen partnership with Faery, provides lessons for productive Faery healing sessions, and includes Faery magick for physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Bestselling author and Faery shaman Edain McCoy lifts the veil between our world and the world of the Faery to show readers the benefits of a truly magical relationship.

About the Author

Edain McCoy is considered one of the first Pagan writers to address the subject of the Fey as something besides cute winged creatures or giant deities. She became a self-initiated Witch in 1981 and underwent a formal initiation in 1983 with a large San Antonio coven.

Edain held positions related to education including handscoring standardized testing, substitute teaching, music education, and private tutoring. She spent many years as a licensed stockbroker and financial advisor for several international investment firms before making the leap of faith into her first love--writing full time. In 2006 she was granted a Certificate in Paranormal Investigation from Flamel College, an online institute devoted to training leaders and scientists who study various aspects of the occult. This training assisted her and her expatriate friends in Argentina (visit them at www.TangoWithJudy.com) to investigate haunted sites that have been, and continue to be, denied to other investigators. In December 2008 she completed her studies to become a Reiki Master of the Usui-Rand linage, an intuitive healing art that is still opening new doors to both spirit and spirituality.

She often gives workshops on metaphysical and New Age topics, and has taught the art of guided mediation to many students eager to use this technique for spiritual exploration. Pagan festivals energize her spiritually because she says she learns something wonderful from every person she meets. 5.0 out of 5 stars Most Thorough Book on Faery I've Ever Read, December 18, 2008
This review is from: The Healing Power of Faery: Working with Elementals and Nature Spirits to Soothe the Body and Soul (Paperback)
The Healing Power of Faery is the most thorough book on faery I've ever encountered. From identifying various species of faery folk, faery mythology, to in-depth prescriptions for faery shamanism, this book has it all. This book's audience is all-encompassing, as one would gain insight in all areas of the subject. This book inspired me on how I may bring another dimension of healing to my Reiki practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely, November 14, 2009

This review is from: The Healing Power of Faery: Working with Elementals and Nature Spirits to Soothe the Body and Soul (Paperback)
I just finished reading this book, and my passion for the faery realm is reawakened. Although I read a lot, and I am somewhat of a skeptic of anything that might lean toward the 'New Agey' category, I found the energy of faery peeking through these pages. Yes, I know their songs and sounds. Reviewers of anything that comes near the faery category are sometimes harsh, in part because they cannot hear or see this realm, thus can't imagine it exists. Those of us who remember seeing the fey as children, and who have remained connected, recognize their voices, whether they be heard in the breeze, or whispered across pages of a lovely book, such as this. Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, September 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I think that this one of the best faery books I have ever read. One thing that impressed me was a questionair on should you become a fairy shamen. I awnsered no to a lot at least for this stage of my life, but it is good to know that the author is not sugar coating the subject and makeing it seem easier than it is.
