Excellent resource on how herbs work as tonics.,

This review is from: The Healing Power of Ginseng & the Tonic Herbs: The Enlightened Person's Guide (Paperback)
This book not only offers a great overview of ginseng research, but Bergner goes out of his way to explain how to purchase ginseng, other tonic herbs, and Chinese patent medicines. In fact, there is a chapter on explaining constitutional medicine
and the terms "excess" and "deficiency." Wow! So helpful to us folks who are unfamiliar with these concepts.
Bergner's stories of people who have suffered early aging effects from taking too much ginseng over many years is absolutely fascinating and informative.

This book answered all the questions I had about ginseng. I highly recommend it to anybody who is health oriented. Too many people have the tendancy to use herbs and supplements however without realizing that too much or not enough can affect your health in a negative way. If you are serious about taking ginseng, it is very important to know how to use ginseng or you will be sorry!
