Innovative, but I still wanted more substance,

This review is from: Healing Stones for the Vital Organs: 83 Crystals with Traditional Chinese Medicine (Paperback)
Typical of Gienger's works so far, this book is beautifully though simply illustrated, and it is appreciably user-friendly. the preliminary chapters focus on the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the application of the organ clock, methods of treatment, and related topics. As the first of its kind, this book presents a lot of unique information, although each chapter seems overly simplified.
The chapters dedicated to the crystals themselves are divided to one chapter per organ/section of the clock, and they include heart, small intestine, bladder, kidneys, etc. The associated meridians are stimulated and regulated by various gemstones as proscribed in any chapter. Each organ/meridian relates not only to physiological correspondences, but also to emotional, psychological, and spiritual ones. Seeing as every meridian has its strong points and weaknesses, the chapters address one list of stone each, but it is done several times. Every repetition relates to a different theme embodied by that meridian. I was a little disappointed to find that many of these sections are based on colour associations, rather than evidence of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine or, conversely, according to their composition and structure. Still, I find this to be a very good book geared towards the therapeutic aspects of understanding how to work with gemstones for healing.

This review is from: Healing Stones for the Vital Organs: 83 Crystals with Traditional Chinese Medicine (Paperback)
One of the main tools in the traditional Chinese doctor's toolbox is an understanding of circadian rhythms governing the body's organs, and this book builds upon that understanding, offering a self-care treatment system using gemstones paired with an understanding of these rhythms. Time frames pair with body organ purposes physical and psychic in a healing guide recommended for any new age library.
