From the Inside Flap
Allen Klein, Author and President of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor
Her joy, grace and zest for living despite her own challenges shine through on every page.
Kathy Cordova, Author and Producer/Co-Host of Cable TV's "In a Word"
Langer takes the reader along on her journey through her many illnesses, accidents and injuries, and there are some funny twists and turns on the way! A firm believer in the role humor plays in the healing process, she demonstrates through her personal trials how to acccept some measure of responsibility in one's own recovery from disease or disability.
Pat Goard, RN Practitioner
No one likes being ill or injured, and not everyone possesses the ability to "spit in the eye" of adversity. But, this book will point you in the right direction and give you the tools. Langer's stories never fail to give one a glimpse of climbing to the other side of hard times and holding onto the gift of laughter while making that journey.

About the Author
After living practically her entire life in the Midwest, Langer decided to pull up stakes in 1998 and head to California where she had always wanted to live. She knew she had made the right decision after seeing an advertisement in a travel magazine. It read: The sun comes up in the east as an obligation. Then the sun heads for California out of blatant self-interest. The sun is no dummy. California: find yourself here.
Retired now from the wacky world of travel planning, Langer has immersed herself in volunteer work and has renewed her love for writing, becoming an active member of the 100-year-old California Writers Club. She resides happily in the San Francisco Bay Area where she continues to meet life's challenges, but in better weather.
Early reviews of Langer's second book A Funny Thing Happened on My Way to the World: Diary of a Fearless Travel Agent agree on her command of humor, as well as her ability to captivate readers with her tales of adventure, too.
