From the perspective of one who uses SCENAR...,

I own and make use of about a dozen different SCENAR devices, so my thoughts about Dr. Tennant's book come from the perspective of one who has a great deal of experience actually putting his concepts and information to practical use.
First, the cons: There is really only one major con, and that's already been discussed to death. The book formatting is not well done. OK, granted, it isn't the prettiest piece of work. That being said, it is certainly not so bad as to make the information unusable by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, quite the contrary is true, which I'll touch on in a moment. Another reviewer suggested waiting until a second edition with improved formatting gets published. You could take that route if you want to. I suppose it just depends on how badly you need the information. Is it really worth allowing your health and your health care to continue to degenerate by not having this information, just so you can wait for a prettier format to come out? You'll have to decide that for yourself, but I know which way I would vote. Here's a little advice for those who got completely hung up on the book's formatting issues and wrote caustic reviews because of them. If you're going to rip someone a new one for using less than perfect language skills, make sure your critique isn't written so poorly that you look functionally illiterate. Criticisms about someone else's use of language carry far more credibility when they aren't themselves filled with typographical errors, words used improperly, and sentences that have poor structure, worse grammar, and incorrect or non-existent punctuation. Something about glass houses and throwing stones comes to mind here. Now, the Pros: Dr. Tennant's book covers information that is right at the edge of medical science. As another reviewer mentioned, there are doubtless many doctors who would call this quackery, not because it is quackery, but because it's so far out on the leading edge that most mainstream medical people have had no exposure to it yet. Given our current medical police state, it's unlikely they will get any substantial exposure to this information from mainstream sources any time soon. Let's be honest, the idea that electrical micro-currents play a major role in the health of the body is not something any pharmaceutical company can turn into a drug and patent at $10 per pill. If it can't be turned into a patented drug, it won't make it into the curriculum of any medical college. There will be no ongoing medical education seminars that discuss it. No pharmaceutical rep. is going to take a doctor out for free lunches or on paid retreats to Rio or the Bahamas to discuss it. And if the doctors don't have any information about it, what else are they to think when suddenly confronted with the whole concept? Quackery. To be versed in this branch of research a doctor would have to go out of his or her way to find and evaluate the information. This is difficult for many reasons, not least among them being that the lion's share of the research and experimentation on using these micro-currents for restoring and maintaining health has been done in Russia. Most of the data is still in Russian, and the quality of translations for the little that has been translated is extremely poor. Add to this the fact that any doctor (at least in the US) who attempts to incorporate these principles into professional practice will lose their medical license quick, fast, and in a hurry. Everyone who has read this book or seen Dr. Tennant's video presentations will have noted that he scrupulously mentions at the outset that the information he is about to present is coming from Jerry Tennant, the minister, and Jerry Tennant, the researcher, but not from Dr. Jerry Tennant, the medical doctor. He has to present the information in this way because if he offered it as professional medical advice, regardless of how true or how beneficial it might be, his medical license would be revoked immediately. So will the license of any other doctor who dares to offer a treatment other than drugging, cutting or irradiating. Anyone who doubts this need only go to the FDA's own website and peruse their online list of warning letters they've issued to those making what the FDA says are false medical claims. Case in point, Dr. Andrew Weil, a famous, Harvard trained physician was sent such a letter just last year. The FDA threatened Dr. Weil with fines, seizure of property, and criminal prosecution and imprisonment because he dared suggest that some of the supplements he markets might help support the immune system, which, in turn, might help the body protect itself from colds and influenza. Wow! What a medically irresponsible concept - that we might actually be able to support our immune systems (using herbs and vitamins which have a long and clear history in peer-reviewed studies of supporting the immune system,) and that a healthy immune system might actually help prevent illness! Send that medical heretic to the gallows! So I do not blame the rank and file doctors for not having any working knowledge of the subject matter of Dr. Tennant's book. Their medical practices are directly under the control of the pharmaceutical industry and its Gestapo-esque enforcement arms, otherwise known as the FDA and the AMA. Doctors can only deal with the information they have, and they are only allowed to have the information the Pharma-Nazis say they can have. To Dr. Tennant's credit, he has managed to step outside this restrictive Pharma-Nazi box and provide a great deal of information in this area of research to us laymen. I don't read Russian, and I don't speak medical jargon particularly well, so Dr. Tennant's book is a treasure trove of information I might not otherwise have had access to. There are other books that deal with electricity and health, such as The Body Electric. But most of these books are fairly old. The material in Tennant's book integrates the newest in medical knowledge with this body of research coming largely out of Russia. As I noted up front, I have and use about a dozen different SCENAR devices, all of which are produced in Russia. In learning to use these devices I have been limited in large part to using extremely poor English translations of both written and video materials from their Russian originals. I learned far more from Dr. Tennant's book than I have from all of those poorly translated sources combined. Many things about the use of SCENAR devices I learned through trial and error. I figured out what worked, but I didn't always understand why it worked. After reading Dr. Tennant's book, I now understand why things work as they do. So, is the book formatting ugly? Sure, but it's certainly still very understandable. It's far more understandable than anything you'll find translated from Russian into whatever language you speak. And I can also say that correctly using these devices has done wonders for my health, the health of my family, and for many with whom I have shared them. I wish I'd had this book years ago as a reference. It would have saved me a great deal of time in the learning curve.

I was startled when I finally looked at the reviews to find comments about typos, spelling, etc. I wrote the book in Microsoft Word and used the spellchecker and grammar checker to be sure all was correct. However, Word continued to resize and move my graphics at will. It would sometimes move a graphic 20 pages away and I would have to go find it. I could leave a page with the graphic in the right place only to find it resized or moved later. It did this both in Word for Windows and Word for Mac. Microsoft Help was NO HELP simply stating it was somehow my fault that the graphics wouldn't stay sized or stay put. I then imported the book with correct grammar and spelling into Pages for Mac and the graphics worked fine. I then exported as PDF and sent to the publisher. I had no idea that the importation into Pages and exportation into PDF would cause spelling and punctuation changes. UUUGGGH! It is being corrected and will be re-published soon. My sincere apologies. However, I want to thank those that overlooked the errors and focused on the purpose of the book---the healing of so many that are suffering.

The first review said, "it will absolutely make your brain explode!" I think that that could be an exaggeration. I'm 3/4 finished with the book, and my brain has not exploded. But I do feel that Dr. Tennant is really onto something here. I would also suggest reading Dr. Mark Starr's book on hypothyroidism.
Although I gave the book five stars because of its content, I would give it one star for its print quality. There are at least 100 typographical errors in the book, probably many many more. I don't think it was ever edited. 'Don't believe me? Buy a copy for yourself and see. It has more typos than any book I've ever read before. But I believe Dr. Tennant to be a true genius who just isn't all that good at typing. The photos and charts in the book are all poor quality. The charts given look like they are scans, but made very very small. I can read very small print, but because the charts are like newsprint (all dots, and gray dots instead of black dots at that), much of what is reproduced is impossible to read. Again, you'd have to see it to believe it. In a way, I feel as if I have been ripped off because of the charts and diagrams being unreadable. I sure would like to be able to read some of them. But that didn't keep me from giving the book five stars, because what Dr. Tennant says makes perfect sense to me.

I first listened to this amazing man on Coast to Coast radio. DR. Tennant was admitted to medical school at 19, helped perfect laser eye surgery and implanted corneas, until finally coming down sick from the microbes that the laser surgery he preformed released. I'm not a doctor or anything close, so I might get some of the medical terms confused, but here's what I got out of the book.
Our bodies are electrical and to perform and heal we need to be at a PH of 7.0. When we're hurt, say you sprain your ankle, swelling occurs and blood rushes to the site. That's your body bringing in new raw material to heal the wound. If your PH, (a way of measuring voltage) is too low, you can't heal properly. What gives us the proper PH? Well, foods for one. Some foods are more acidic (voltage stealers) such as caffeine, alcohol, and sugar to name some of my favorites. Other foods are more alkaline(voltage raisers) such as fruits, veggies and exercise because moving our bodies also raises our voltage. Now why is this important? Well, because cancer happens when the body's voltage goes too low and stays there. Which is why science says that cancer loves low oxygen, acid and sugar. Some have said that cancer can't grow in an alkaline environment. That's because high alkaline means high voltage. Did I mention that stress also lowers our voltage and can cause us to become sick? In conclusion, read this important book and maybe save your life. It's an easy read for the medically-challenged like myself, and yet there is lots of scientific information for those in the know. A great book written for the masses to more easily take control of their health by understand how our bodies work. When I Dream

Good information, bad book production,

Having been educated in Traditional Chinese Medicine, I must say I find Jerry Tennant's "Healing is Voltage" appealing. He puts forth logical reasoning behind his conclusions and theories and that is where allopathy falls way short. Modern conventional medicine does not appear to rest on any sound science and the medical "art" doesn't have any. To me, Dr. Tennant makes sense.
The only negative side to this book is what I see with so many books these days. What happened to proof readers? And I'm not talking about correction software but real, live proof readers who know the king's English. The errors and omissions do not detract from the overall theme but they do make it tedious going in spots. Additionally, the graphics have a lot of room for improvement. The detail is very difficult to see in a lot of them. Anyway, I give it five stars just because I think what Tennant has to say needs to be said.

If you are somewhat familiar with the literature and attendant concepts, this amazing book will absolutely make your brain explode! The conclusions/recommendations arrived at in this work emerge from fundamental elements observed and connected in ways that are novel, yet obviously legitimate and "solid." These matters are thoughtfully presented to the reader with great diligence. Rather than politically safe and useless pablum, catering to currently-reigning, business model-based "standards of care," this is a full dose of real science. Ten stars!

Turns out that Woodie Allen's "SLEEPER" Was partially Right!
After following closely Dr. Tennant's logic, (I'm an electronics buff too) I utterly see the logic in his approach. Dr. Tennant understands the relationship of the cells in the body and the heads of large food companies and conglomerates like no one else-- for, in the end, their motives all, and will always-- be PROFIT at the sacrifice of the health of their customers. There is a wave of "Illegalization" of Natural Food; states declaring it illegal for a family to drink Milk from their own Cows or sell Eggs from their chickens to friends; turns out that these 'sinful luxuries' are key to life. Dr. Tennant shows that the roots of our diet were the best and can be used to rebuild our plasticized, inefficient cells and bodies and Minds! This book is a MUST READ for Doctors, healers and Lay People concerned even mildly with Saving their LIVES! I have read so many health books so as to doubt them all, THIS ONE IS GENUINE, RESEARCHED, TRUTHFUL and BRILLIANT.

The body is as magnetic as it is electric!,
By MRM90 (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Healing is Voltage: The Handbook (Paperback)
It's a good book, but Dr. Tennant was not the first to discover that when the voltage of the cell drops below normal disease is quick to follow. Albert Roy Davis and Walter C. Rawls, Jr. discovered this years ago and wrote about it in their book, "Magnetism and Its Effects on the Living System". Here are some quotes from chapter 9, 'Cancers and Tumors and Magnetism', on page 76. "Anything that changes the selectivity or the charges of the cells and their membrane supporting structure will affect the health and welfare of the cell proper." "The first effect is the rise in negative voltage which we find happens in all damaged segments of the living system. The resultant drop in below normal negative voltage across the affected segment tells us that repairs have not been made and that part, segment or cell is a mutant no longer under the repair control of the living system's defense mechanism. This is noted by the negative voltage being lower than normal."
Davis and Rawls discovered that North pole (negative energy) magnetism increases the negative voltage on the cells. They also discovered that the North pole energy reduces the positive external potential of the outer nerve fiber coating, resulting in a sedating effect. The positive energies that are excited on the nerve surfaces are drawn to the North pole (negative) energy of the magnet. So, pain is reduced. Of course, there are many more reactions that take place. North pole magnetism also has an alkaline effect on the body. All electrical currents produce magnetic fields, and magnetic fields produce electricity, including those in your own body. Our bodies are not only electrical, they are magnetic, and they are dramatically influenced by external magnetic fields. There is a great interview with Walter Rawls on the blogtalkradio website. Just type "Dr. Walter C. Rawls, Jr." in the search box and you'll find it. This is not a part of conventional medicine, in fact, I'm certain that most doctors are completely unaware of this and would call it quackery. The fact that health care costs continue to rise and medical facilities are being built up as the economy goes down says a lot about what course we are on at the moment. Conventional medical care is failing miserably and if it doesn't change drastically, it will continue to fail miserably into the future regardless of how much money is thrown at it.

MAGNETIC THERAPY,
By

This review is from: Healing is Voltage: The Handbook (Paperback)
The skin surrounding our body is an insulator to electron flow through our skin. Jerry Tennant devloped an instrument capable of measuring what is known as "Current of Injury" to detect disturbances in the body. This is difficult because many instruments produce what is known as "Motion Artifacts". He didnt disclose how he did this. US Patent 4,602,639 accomplishes this. He developed a BioTransducer, which is a form of "Magnetic Therapy". He didnt disclose how it works but it could be pulsed (PEMF), static, or both US Patent 5,211,622. He claims that his device works better than Gordons EM-Probe; US Patent 7,175,587. When the BioTransducer is moved over an skin area of low voltage we may feel it stick and when the voltage of the deep organ is corrected, the sticky spot disappears (page 284). Motion Artifacts can occur when one moves across areas of different potentials or when one stretches the skin. Albert Abrams rubbed his patients with abdomen glass until a "stickiness" was felt over their troubled area. Dr Tennant has made a great deal of progress in Energy Medicine and I highly recommend his book. He also publishes another book on his website which I have not read.

This review is from: Healing is Voltage: The Handbook (Paperback)
This book describes a very interesting theory of how voltage affects our body. Traditional medicine does not embrace these views because medical schools are supported by major drug companies, and drug companies sponsor only profitable ideas.
Here is an example. People who suffer from constipation do not need to take constipation medicine. It's enough to prepare a salad with FRESH, NOT COOKED - beets, carrots, and either cabbage or celery. Cooked veggies do not have the same properties. Does anyone think that drug companies will inform people that their constipation medicine is not needed, and this "bowel movement salad" is much more beneficial because it contains vitamins? No, the officers of any company have a duty not to harm the company they work for. This duty is more important than ethical considerations. We simply can not trust them. Another example. One of my relatives, an old woman, was taking ten different medicines. When she moved to Israel, her doctor told her that only three are needed. The other seven medicines were prescribed by doctors - drug dealers simply because doctors get kickbacks from drug companies for prescribing their medicines. The main purpose is just looting of the Medicare fund. No surprise that Medicare fund is in trouble. Many thanks to the author for important contribution to alternative medicine. |
