Healing Your Grieving Heart - 100 Practical Ideas for Kids,
By A Customer
This review is from: Healing Your Grieving Heart: 100 Practical Ideas for Kids (Paperback)
My 28 year old precious daughter was recently killed by a drunk driver and I was looking for something to help her younger sisters deal with grief. They are 25 and 21. I ran across this book and although it is written for children I found it enormously helpful for me! It is practical, sensitive, and gives nurturing and very easy ideas. For example, on p. 81 it says, "Be A Big Baby. When you are grieving it is okay to do things that seem babyish. It's natural to want to cry, be held, snuggle with grown-ups, hug a stuffed animal. For now it is OK to do whatever makes you feel safe and gives you comfort". Isn't that wonderful! Isn't it exactly what we ALL need to hear, not just kids. Great book, I highly recommend it! A grieving mom

This book was a compilation of ideas that were practical, but fairly obvious ways to help a child with their sadness. I was hoping for more inovative ideas that I could use in my practice working with children who experienced a loss.
