Vitalism is a profoundly science-ejected concept, though many CAM or 'natural health' cabals falsely claim that vitalism survives scientific scrutiny.

I quote:

"naturopaths have always recognized the existence of the life-force in the physical body [...this supposed] life-force in all living matter has helped to explain naturopathic philosophy [...] the vital force [p.012...] the etheric life force [...] in Hindu philosophy [...] in Chinese medical philosophy [...] the life energy called prana or chi [ respectively p.015...] the words for vital force or energy vary from country to country, but are interchangeable in meaning -- prana in the Hindu system, chi in the medical philosophy of China, and bioplasm in Russian literature on the subject [p.013...] glossary [...] chi: a Chinese term for the life-force underlying the physical existence and function of organs and tissues. This life-force [p.324...] prana: the Hindu term for life-energy [...] see also chi [p.326]."
