5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable Resource
This book is invaluable for anyone battling candida. It contains practical advice, information and resources - everything from antifungals to probiotics, liver health, vitamins, medical tests, etc. It covers material on candida not found in other books. The book is indexed in a way that enables the reader to find things readily. A GREAT resource.

After reading the positive reviews, I decided to order The Health Forum by Polly Hattemer. I was greatly disappointed when I opened the book to see it was simply typed copies of emails from her "chatroom". I have found hundreds of places via the internet that are much more informative and up to date than the pile of junk written in this book. Look into candidafree.net, candidasupport.org, drnatura.com, gifam.org, viableherbalsolutions.com, herbalremedies.com, parasitecleanse.com, baar.com (Candida Clear Tablets). This book is a complete waste of money and does not help you solve your problem.

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting overview, November 21, 2003
By
This review is from: The Health Forum: Yeast, Parasites and Bacteria (Paperback)
The good thing about this book is that it shows of many ways to the goal of good health, with several very different success stories, instead of proclaiming the "one and only diet" or the "one and only medicine" etc.

It is put together from messages in a chatroom, which makes it mostly easy to read, but maybe confusing to those who have no information of the problem already. But since it is a confusing problem, with no clear cut answer, I find it true to life.
Many references makes it easy to search further.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Candida Resource, February 5, 2003
This review is from: The Health Forum: Yeast, Parasites and Bacteria (Paperback)
I enjoyed reading the Heath Forum Book immensely. I am now rereading it, and will use it as my main reference in getting well. The people on the forum are very intelligent and well read. They share their personal experiences with supplements and other treatments which help with Yeast, Parasites and Bacteria. I have had candida for many years and now feel there is light at the end of the tunnel with this useful information!
I will share it with my health food store friends. I'm anxiously awaiting Volume 2 and 3!

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful for parents and caregivers of people with autism, December 24, 2002

This review is from: The Health Forum: Yeast, Parasites and Bacteria (Paperback)
We are the parents of a 36 year old man who has autism, epilepsy and ALS. We are always looking for books that will help us in understanding our son's health issues. This author has included many specific references to autism. For this reason, we are finding the book very helpful in understanding candida, vitamins, parasites and other aspects of health that affect autistic people. We are also presently using this book's information on Lyme Disease to check out some of our son's symptoms.

The book gives sources and contacts for those who use the net and for those who use the mail and telephone. The text is understandable to those just beginning to research health problems, while at the same time, the text is useful to those who have been researching health issues for a while.

We highly recommend this book to others who have a family member with autism or who know or work with a person with autism. We purchased several copies of this book for our friends and family members.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing information, December 4, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Health Forum: Yeast, Parasites and Bacteria (Paperback)
The information in this book is a composite of many, many people's stories about their triumphs and challenges with internal - and unwanted- organisms. Medical doctors often don't know much about this field as it is considered unconventional. But those who have used their own trial and error have a wealth of information that is too often overlooked or not heard about.

Here is the collection of personal stories of what works and doesn't work, and why, in each contributor's quest to rid their body of yeast and parasites. The book covers an immense number of supplements, diets, and other lifestyle additons (such as saunas, colonics, etc).

I can speak personally about this book. I went to the source of this information (a widely trafficked web forum on the subject) to cure my own severe problems with migraines and was able to watch miracles occur that are still lasting, years later. My husband is a doctor and he watched in astonishment as he saw my situation improve.

This book is invaluable. It is well written and fills a niche that is underserved. It has more information in it than any other book on the subject I've ever seen, and, most importantly, does not reflect any one person's theories. This is the real live experience of many, many people who have dealt with the problems of internal unwanted organisms. If you or anyone you know is suffering from any of these problems, run, don't walk, to purchase a copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Candida is real!, December 9, 2002
This review is from: The Health Forum: Yeast, Parasites and Bacteria (Paperback)
Great book! Full of information on health issues that many doctors don't get!(Atkins in Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution says doctors don''t like to diagnose candida because it implicates their treatments as causative ie antibiotics, high carbohydrate diets etc.) This book is ORGANIZED and written in such an entertaining style that one absorbs complex information almost effortlessly. It is PACKED with information and computer URLS for more in-depth treatment of given subject matter. This book has saved me time and money by distilling a great deal of research into a reference handbook that I refer to time and time again! My doctor needs a copy to keep on his desk.
