4.0 out of 5 stars I own this and like it, December 12, 2006
This review is from: Health Mark VF80000 Movin' Health Whole Body Vibration Therapy System (Sports)
I have had my Healthmark Vibrafit (same as the Fibrafit)for about a month and a half. I looked into some of the other technologies before purchasing this one. I don't think the reviewer who said that the Power Plate vibration is 1000 times stronger knows what he is talking about. This machine (Healthmark) has 5 settings in the beneficial frequency range: 1300 rpm=22Hz, 1730 rpm=29Hz, 2150 rpm=36Hz, 2580 rpm=43Hz, 2840 rpm=47Hz. I've read that the actual research for the astronauts was done by Juvent in Canada. Their quality product is around $3000 and recently became available in the US. The Power Plate has two models, one only has one setting (35 Hz), the other is multiple but cost about $9000. Those are heavy duty for professional use--health clubs, sports facilities, etc. I have also read that the Power Plate is a just a knock-off like the other whole body vibration units (Soloflex, Fibrafit and others) and is not the same as the Juvent technology.
Anyway, there are articles around the net about vibrational frequency and bone health if you look. That's why I bought mine. Someone else I know has MS and he uses it because it is difficult for him to exercise conventionally. He loves his and I love mine. The only thing I don't like is the piddling 90 day warranty on the motor. Also, I think the motor has started getting louder.
It is my opinion (I don't claim to be a doctor)that many people would benfit from the regular use of this much cheaper machine, including those who have knee problems--arthritic and other. The value of vibrational frequencies for health and healing is well known in Europe but not here. I am now going to purchase another Healthmark for a gift. The Amazon price is as cheap as I've seen them (it is what I paid elsewhere)and free shipping too.

5.0 out of 5 stars I do know.....and this machine is excellent!, October 1, 2006
This review is from: Health Mark VF80000 Movin' Health Whole Body Vibration Therapy System (Sports)
First, I never understand why people who don't own the product and have never tried it are permitted to review it. I recently purchased this machine from Amazon and couldn't be happier. (Two day shipping for free with Amazon Prime is a great start). I've tried the $7500 Power Plate and the platform is larger, allowing for easier movement when doing the alternate exercises. Is the Power Plate 18 times better than this $400 Health Mark? No way! This unit really shakes, the motor is quiet, it has a nice stable ride and most importantly it works. After just a week at 15 minutes a day both myself and my wife are lighter and stronger. Thank you cosmonauts!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you commit and are consistent, it will amaze you. Young or Older!, February 24, 2007
This review is from: Health Mark VF80000 Movin' Health Whole Body Vibration Therapy System (Sports)
When I first got the machine, I was primarily interested in improving my circulatory system, and I was curious as to how this machine would work.

Well, it has amazed me. First off, my circulation has noticeably improved (I used to get numbness easily, as well as getting lightheaded from crouching and standing too quickly). Secondly, *all* of my joints are stronger. I never used to be able to run because my ankles and knees would get too sore, and that is a thing of the past. Third, I have great muscle tone everywhere now, and all it took was doing the exercises two or three times a week. On the non-exercise days, I just stand or sit on the machine for 15 minutes.

I would also like to add, my grandmother has restless leg syndrome and arthritis, and after I badgered her to give the machine a try, she now swears by it and is getting one for her birthday.

ETA: I bought it for my grandmother, and even *she* (who is 84 and has had both of her knees replaced, so she has somewhat limited mobility) has noticed increased muscle tone in her legs, and when her Restless Leg starts, she stands on the machine for about 5 minutes, and the tremors/restlessness is gone. She loves the machine and keeps it right by her bed.
