4.0 out of 5 stars I own this and like it
I have had my Healthmark Vibrafit (same as the Fibrafit)for about a month and a half. I looked into some of the other technologies before purchasing this one. I don't think the reviewer who said that the Power Plate vibration is 1000 times stronger knows what he is talking about. This machine (Healthmark) has 5 settings in the beneficial frequency range: 1300 rpm=22Hz,...

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap imitation
Let me make something very clear for all former or prospective buyers: this is not a massage unit but an oscillating plate. It does the same action as a car buffer and wax machine; it oscillates from right to left in a "rolling egg" motion. That's why just your legs vibrate and not the rest of your body. It does not vibrate in an "up-down" motion as any massage units do...

I have had my Healthmark Vibrafit (same as the Fibrafit)for about a month and a half. I looked into some of the other technologies before purchasing this one. I don't think the reviewer who said that the Power Plate vibration is 1000 times stronger knows what he is talking about. This machine (Healthmark) has 5 settings in the beneficial frequency range: 1300 rpm=22Hz, 1730 rpm=29Hz, 2150 rpm=36Hz, 2580 rpm=43Hz, 2840 rpm=47Hz. I've read that the actual research for the astronauts was done by Juvent in Canada. Their quality product is around $3000 and recently became available in the US. The Power Plate has two models, one only has one setting (35 Hz), the other is multiple but cost about $9000. Those are heavy duty for professional use--health clubs, sports facilities, etc. I have also read that the Power Plate is a just a knock-off like the other whole body vibration units (Soloflex, Fibrafit and others) and is not the same as the Juvent technology.
Anyway, there are articles around the net about vibrational frequency and bone health if you look. That's why I bought mine. Someone else I know has MS and he uses it because it is difficult for him to exercise conventionally. He loves his and I love mine. The only thing I don't like is the piddling 90 day warranty on the motor. Also, I think the motor has started getting louder.
It is my opinion (I don't claim to be a doctor)that many people would benfit from the regular use of this much cheaper machine, including those who have knee problems--arthritic and other. The value of vibrational frequencies for health and healing is well known in Europe but not here. I am now going to purchase another Healthmark for a gift. The Amazon price is as cheap as I've seen them (it is what I paid elsewhere)and free shipping too.

5.0 out of 5 stars I do know.....and this machine is excellent!, October 1, 2006
This review is from: Health Mark VF80000 Movin' Health Whole Body Vibration Therapy System (Sports)
First, I never understand why people who don't own the product and have never tried it are permitted to review it. I recently purchased this machine from Amazon and couldn't be happier. (Two day shipping for free with Amazon Prime is a great start). I've tried the $7500 Power Plate and the platform is larger, allowing for easier movement when doing the alternate exercises. Is the Power Plate 18 times better than this $400 Health Mark? No way! This unit really shakes, the motor is quiet, it has a nice stable ride and most importantly it works. After just a week at 15 minutes a day both myself and my wife are lighter and stronger. Thank you cosmonauts!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you commit and are consistent, it will amaze you. Young or Older!, February 24, 2007
This review is from: Health Mark VF80000 Movin' Health Whole Body Vibration Therapy System (Sports)
When I first got the machine, I was primarily interested in improving my circulatory system, and I was curious as to how this machine would work.

Well, it has amazed me. First off, my circulation has noticeably improved (I used to get numbness easily, as well as getting lightheaded from crouching and standing too quickly). Secondly, *all* of my joints are stronger. I never used to be able to run because my ankles and knees would get too sore, and that is a thing of the past. Third, I have great muscle tone everywhere now, and all it took was doing the exercises two or three times a week. On the non-exercise days, I just stand or sit on the machine for 15 minutes.

I would also like to add, my grandmother has restless leg syndrome and arthritis, and after I badgered her to give the machine a try, she now swears by it and is getting one for her birthday.

ETA: I bought it for my grandmother, and even *she* (who is 84 and has had both of her knees replaced, so she has somewhat limited mobility) has noticed increased muscle tone in her legs, and when her Restless Leg starts, she stands on the machine for about 5 minutes, and the tremors/restlessness is gone. She loves the machine and keeps it right by her bed.

I used this, and after using it for about 20 minutes it made my legs feel like I had just done 20 minutes on a treadmill or something, I was a skeptic before, but now i use it as much a s I possibly can, I have not seen any immediate results, but I know there will be
I use it while I stretch and do other weight excercizes and it really adds some resistence and I feel like it could not only be a standalone excercise, but also make other excersizes more efficient

PS: I got it in 2 days with the free shipping, so dont worry about ordering the expensive shipping!

This unit seems a very good value for the price. My wife has been using it regularly to good effect. It appears well made, was not difficult to assemble, and has worked fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars I do not own this, just setting the record straight., December 7, 2006
This review is from: Health Mark VF80000 Movin' Health Whole Body Vibration Therapy System (Sports)
After reading the reviews, someone posted a review stating that the vibrafit was not as good as the power plate because of it having only 2840 rpm vs 50 hz for the power plate. If you convert 2840 RPM to Hz, it comes out to be very close to 50 Hz. If you don't own the product, or have not used it, then it is not fair to judge it. The stars I gave the product was split between the 2 previous reviews so that I could attempt not to sway the review.

The product is easy to use and requires only a small area of a room to workout, if in fact you want to call it a workout. I say that because it's not like lifting weights or riding a recumbant bike, etc. One does not finish with sweat coming out of every pore. It is low impact, yet it works. You really have to experience it to feel the benefits. Buy it, you'll like it!

I am very pleased with the Health Mark Power Vibe. It does exactly what
the maker says it will. My only complaint is that the intensity of the
exercise cannot be set before the machine comes on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap imitation, March 17, 2008

Let me make something very clear for all former or prospective buyers: this is not a massage unit but an oscillating plate. It does the same action as a car buffer and wax machine; it oscillates from right to left in a "rolling egg" motion. That's why just your legs vibrate and not the rest of your body. It does not vibrate in an "up-down" motion as any massage units do. The "up-down" machines are more expensive because the massage motion is more difficult to create. If you are on a budged and want to settle for a cheap imitation without any effects then you can buy any Health Mark products, they do the same thing: oscillate.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Good, April 13, 2007

I ended up returning this machine after trying it out for one day - and returning it was very easy, and at no expense to me (Thank you, Amazon!). I found that the amplitude of the vibration on the Health Mark was very small - so that it felt like I was standing on a large electric razor. It seemed clear to me that this was not going to produce the results I wanted, might even be harmful over time, and I ended up buying the more expensive but far superior machine from aestheticmd - Sorry I can't be at all enthusiastic about the HealthMark.
