I don't know how long a scale is supposed to last, but after about 18 months of light use, this scale is very difficult to read, because the needle is all over the place. As I stand on it and try to read my weight, the reading varies as much as 7 pounds.

It was good for a while, then got kind of flaky.

Its big and sturdy enough to weigh just about anything. Ever tried to weigh a big dog at home? Pick up the dog and stand on the scale read the weight. Get off the scale put the dog down get back on the scale read the weight. Subtract the second weight from the first to get the weight of the dog... Simple eh ;0) I was very surprised about the quality of this scale I'd have expected to have paid 4 or more times the price for this unit. Seriously you can't beat it.

Having owned several expensive digital scales and watched them all eventually stop working, I went in search of a good old fashioned spring scale..And found they are more rare than you think. This is the only one I found and I am sure glad I did. The scale is large and easy to stand on and read. No more balancing act with this one.Its easy to read and use.
I would recommend this scale to anyone who wants a stable non-digital scale.I am sure it will last alot longer!

This scale is very accurate and easy to read. It is very well priced too!

Most commercially available scales will weigh only up to 250 pounds or so, which is fine for the petite sized person who is agonizing over gaining an additional ounce but it is useless for the heavyweight person who is trying to shed twenty or more pounds. The expanded range on this scale of up to 400 pounds makes it ideal for the heavyweight person (such as myself).

Fantastic scale for any house. Very easy to balance it out to zero. Large viewing area to see numbers and plenty of "foot room" on the scale. Just all around GREAT scale. Would tell anyone to purchase it with no worries.

This product stands up to repeated use, providing consistently accurate weight readings. I really considered getting a scale that was a little more aesthetically pleasing, but what's the point of a pretty glass/metal scale that is more like a decorative piece of art (the reviews suggest that they don't work so great).

This scale is completely accurate. You set it on 0 and it works perfectly.
Every digital scale I have ever bought will change the weight every time you move the scale to a different hard surface.

To be honest, I would really rather have the much more expensive doctor's balance beam scale, but I just don't have the room for it right now. I have owned a lot of scales over the years, and this is the best I have owned. certainly the best for the price. I find it to be more consistent than any other scale I have owned.

I've been using this scale regularly for about four months. Lately it's all over the place-as much as a 5 pound variance after resetting. I'm replacing it.
