This is a pager turner from beginning to end. It took me about three and a half hours to read from chapter 1 on. I have a 2 year old daughter and it was a blessing in disguse to find a book that would actually get me to realize what I needed to do to assist myself and daughter to do to get a healthier lifestyle while still enjoying the "no-no's" on occasion. A must read for all those parents that would enjoy even cooking better foods for their family and have time to spare for a sit down meal.

My review is based on the 3rd edition of this book. This book was required reading in my early childhood education program. It is a great introduction to what is safe, healty, and nutritious for children. A simple straight forward approach to information about children that every parent and/or caregiver should know.

This textbook was required for completing prerequisites to obtain my Early childhood degree. But it was one helluva good book. The chapters were short so it was never overwhelming to read. At the end of each chapter were lesson plans and therein lies the gold at the end of this rainbow. This book is a treasure trove of easy lessons to implement in a preschool early childhood classroom. This is not just a fabulous textbook it is an amazing classroom and center resource.

I ordered this book for a night class and I have to say that it is serving its purpose. However the only problem was the price$$. It is way to expensive considering the older edition (used) goes for about $30 or less and is only missing about 9 of the vocabulary words found in the new book.

I used this book for my Health,Nutrition, and Safety class enjoyed reading it and was very easy reading. Learned a lot from the book.

I was required to buy this book for my class. It is utterly boring. If I had trouble going to sleep, I just read this book. Some of the information is outdated (e.g. how the chicken pox vaccine should be given), as it's copyright is 2005, and the subject matter it contains on the health, safety and nutrition of the young child is constantly changing. The publisher needs to create a 7th edition and use different authors.

it has been over two weeks since my order was placed and he has not even shipped it yet, also he will not respond to my emails. horrible seller, never buying anything from him again.

I have not used this textbook in school yet, but I have thumbed through it and I am very excited about it. It is beautiful and the organization is great. Key terms are always in blue in the main text and the definition is at the bottom of the page like a footnote - there if you need it, out of the way if you don't. Informational extras and tables are color coded and easy to find. So far it looks very thorough but an easy read. I have had textbooks that didn't have the key terms in the index but had seemingly irrelevant topics listed, but this book has a very thorough index which is a plus! Also, it is very modern and clean looking. I doubt I will spend half of my study time being frustrated by the book like I have in the past.

Um book came in 2 days , good conditions No bent pages, major highlighting, and one of the owners Wrote sidenotes of thought on pages....legible ....no cd included.. Ive order so many books I forgot if this one was suppose to get one or not. um not a new book and came not wrapped in plastic .. ita get me my A in class.
