This book made a real difference for me., June 17, 2010

I have read quite a number of health and wellness books and this one has turned out to be a favorite. It's refreshingly direct and straightforward. It's easy to read and understand. I don't like books with a lot of fluff like case studies and repeated examples. I like books that make their point in plain English and then move on. Therefore this book appealed to me greatly.
I like the way it touches on so many different aspects of health care in an all-encompassing overview. So many of the other books that I have read focus on specific sub-topics while neglecting others. It gave me real advice that I can actually understand, remember, and follow every day. Some of them are predictable, like advice on exercise and diet. But many other ideas presented in this book made me stop and think, why didn't I realize that before? Some very interesting concepts that have obvious benefits that I am now making a part of my life.
The book seems to be pretty well balanced between mental and physical health, and it emphasizes the importance of maintaining both with equal care.
I know this isn't a diet or weight loss book but some of the unique tips I found here in weight loss strategies have by themselves been worth the small price I paid for this book. The remarks on not only what to eat, but HOW to eat, were real eye-openers!
My only complaint with Health Secrets from China is that the book is only available for the Kindle. I would like to buy some copies for my family and friends, whom I value even more after reading this book, if they had a printed version.
