4.0 out of 5 stars Very good for the low price
It took my son and me about one hour to assemble the bike. The instructions were fine, though be careful to adjust the tension rod pretty tight or it will slip out of the anchor (step 7 of 8). Other than that, which was about a 10 minute detour, no problems.

I rode the bike for half an hour and thought it was very good for the price in terms of stability (I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Company delays response to defective product
I bought this product and the company, Keys Fitness, sent a model with two defects. After spending more than an hour on the telephone with their representative, taking and sending photos of the defect(s), and at his direction spending upwards of $20.00 of my own money for a tool to pull the pedal assembly, I was told by the representative I was working with that he was...

It took my son and me about one hour to assemble the bike. The instructions were fine, though be careful to adjust the tension rod pretty tight or it will slip out of the anchor (step 7 of 8). Other than that, which was about a 10 minute detour, no problems.

I rode the bike for half an hour and thought it was very good for the price in terms of stability (I weigh about 180 pounds) and smooth pedaling. The electronic console is pretty useless as is the pulse monitor, so I wore a Polar chest strap and wrist monitor. The only problem with riding is that the resistance cannot get very high, so the workout is more "spinning" than "mashing".

Usually I ride the expensive Life Fitness at a club and got this for quick and convenient home workouts. Assuming it will be reasonably durable, I think the bike delivers a nice value for the money.

When I finally grew impatient and inquired, I found that he had gone on vacation aand nother representative e-mail me that the problem was "in management's hands and they are reviewing it." That was almost a week ago now, and I have still heard nothing. Are/were they just waiting out the 30 days???

1.0 out of 5 stars "DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! MANUFACTURER BANKRUPT! WARRANTY VOIDED!, January 30, 2009
This review is from: HealthTrainer 440r Recumbent Exercise Bike (Sports)
"DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! MANUFACTURER BANKRUPT! WARRANTY VOIDED! I purchased one of this manufacturer's bikes through Amazon.com and Bayou Fitness. It arrived yesterday broken. I called the service number and was informed that the manufacturer has declared bankruptcy and that all of the warranties are voided. I was then told that all distributors had been informed of this and that I should have been told this. Note that there is no warning of this from Bayou Fitness or Amazon.com anywhere on this page.

The end result: They would not replace the part, but offered to see it to me for half the price of the bike - OR - I could send the bike back and MY expense. Take my advice and find another manufacturer and distributor.
