I was surprised and finally relieved to find a book that narrows down the information I need to help my family make better decisions on choosing the right health care. With prescription costs rising and insurance packages being so confusing, this has already helped us make sense of some of the questions we didn't even know to ask.

Tips to save money range from basic prevention advice to keep oneself in good health, to learning how exactly to read a medical bill, to negotiation strategies with healthcare institutions and providers. In the modern era of spiraling prescription and health care prices, Healthcare For Less is strongly recommended for all but the wealthiest Americans.

THIS IS A FANTASTIC BOOK. I AM SO HAPPY THERE IS A SPECIFIC BOOK OUTLINING MEDICARE PART D. MS. KATZ HAS A BEST SELLER HERE. THIS SHOULD BE READ IN DETAIL BY EVERYONE MY AGE (over 60) AND ANYONE ABOUT TO GET HEALTH INSURANCE. A MUST HAVE!

Healthcare for Less is an excellent resource for helping people to navigate and save money in our healthcare system. My first try at using the information I read in Michelle's book was a huge success. It saved me over $600 dollars for a diagnostic MRI. If I had not read the book I would never have known about the national 211 organization. The organization Michelle writes about is a national organization with local chapters that provide referrals for a variety of human services. Through this organization I was referred to a diagnostic center that would charge me half that of the other regional diagonstic centers I had contacted for an MRI. If it weren't for the book I would be $600 dollars deeper in medical debt.Thank you Healthcare for Less!

Finally, a book that we can USE, on how to save money in this world of expensive healthcare!
This is the best book on healthcare I have read, summarizing ways to save money in every area.
I have always wanted to give my patients a good reference on how to save, how to read a bill, etc. and this is finally the one.
I am ordering 20 for my staff and patients and will likely order 20 more!

healthcare for less is a fantastic book for all that are confused about healthcare, even the doctor! Michelle katz give the audience the tools they need to save money in healthcare instead of having us doing all the leg work. From easy to read charts such as a guide to when people should be getting certain screenings, to websites on how to choose a legit online pharmacy for less expensive pharmaceuticals. In addition, Michelle Katz hits on one topic that I think is extremely important is communicating with the physician and how to do this more effectively and save money doing this. I have purchased a few books for patients to read while they are in the waiting room and it has already facilitated communication between myself and my patients and I have already begun helping my patients save money in ways I never consciously thought of before. For example, one of my patients let me know how expensive a drug I prescribed for her was, and asked if there was anything less expensive. the patient and I did some research and found a drug that was just as effective and much less expensive. by working together, we were able to save $600 a month. Healthcare for less is a great book for doctors and patients!

Easy-to-read explanations take the mystery out of medical lingo and help the reader understand the various insurance and Medicare plans. It contains many practical suggestions on how to save money and still ensure that the patient receives quality care. There are useful charts to help manage and simplify your healthcare. This book would be a useful gift to anyone; it would be particularly enlightening to young people beginning to manage their own healthcare needs for the first time.

It is about time someone has created a book that explains the complex health care system in a 101 format. Recommended to everyone.
