I'm a tall guy that has wide weight fluctuations from year to year, the usual scales with a 280lb or 320lb max isn't enough. I have never paid so much for a scale, but I'm glad I did. This scale is 'heavy duty'and super easy to use. I weighed myself about two maybe three minutes after opening the box (364lbs!). Just plug the display the wall and into the base. And since this thing is flat you can store it just about anywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars A BOON TO THE PHYSICALLY INFIRM, February 16, 2005
I'm 86, half blind, slightly deaf and very unsteady on my feet. I tried a talking scale, a conventional scale and was unable to weigh on either. Combined cost of talking and other scale was equal to the cost of this scale which works like a charm. I sincerely recommend it for a physically handicapped person or anyone, in fact, who wants an attractive highly accurate scale(agreed to the tenth with my MD's office balance scale) as well as highly visible weight results under normal or certain adverse conditions.

5.0 out of 5 stars On a Scale of 5, this gets a 5 (pun intended), September 18, 2010

Appears extremely accurate. I have compared this scale to a lever, cable and weight scale (doctor-style scale) of high quality. Both scales read to within .1% of one another (I performed 5 different measurements on people from 10lbs to 335 lbs). It is extremely easy to use, takes little room, and the platform is large enough to easily stand on. Best of all, the display lights up so you can read it without turning on the lights (so you can run naked to it for that morning weigh-in and not worry about the neighbors).

Love the scale.......love the digital readout you can mount on the wall. Only thing I don't love is the price.......but it's a great scale
