A practical book that should be in every home.,

This review is from: Healthy Habits (Paperback)
This excellent book is a sequel to the Frahm's first book, and is written for anyone who wants to develop healthy lifestyle choices, especially in the area of nutrition. It is practical, well written, and easy to understand and implement.

My brother gave me this book about 12 or 13 years ago and this is probably the 5th or 6th copy I've purchased because I keep giving it away to people. I know the Frahms have been criticized for various reasons, but regardless of what you say about them, the advice provided in this book is solid. It truly changed my life the first time I read it and I find myself going back to it when I lose my resolve a bit! I originally found it helpful because each chapter suggests one change so the reader can try it, (hopefully implement it!), see how it goes then move on to another change. Maybe this approach is less overwhelming for people searching for a starting point; someone who says 'I can't do all of these things right now, but I can do X, Y or Z'. It's simple reading and provides some good resources even though it's an older book.

Whether you're fighting a degenerative disease or fighting to keep from getting one, this book is a must ...
After giving "A Cancer Battle Plan" to everyone you know fighting cancer and other "incurable" diseases, give this book to everyone you love who wants to never get those diseases! EXCELLENT reading, and applicable information.

basics of healthy eating - loved it!,

The book consists of 20 chapters, with every chapter dealing with one topic (like "drink pure water", "cut down on meat of all kinds", "cut back on salt").
The authors explain why you should cut back on so much or why certain things are that important in clear, understandable language. Although many things might not really be new to you (cut back on sugars and alcohol), you are starting to see what's good and bad much more clearly. I considered myself a healthy eater, but now I see there's still a lot I can change! |
