5.0 out of 5 stars A VERY GOOD BOOK
This book is easy to understand and is simply written. My relaxed hair was hard and brittle before I read this book. I purchased the book about three months ago and I can honestly say that my hair is the healthiest it has ever been. I am receiving compliments daily. Thank you Cheryl Moss for showing me the light. I was abusing my hair daily by using hot curling irons...

1.0 out of 5 stars SMALL, SKINNY VOLUME without much to SAY.....
I was sincerely disappointed in Ms. Moss' book. Given the other reviews and the write up I thought this is it. Wrong! This is not even close. [...] Most everything she said is common sense. No real technique tips or product specific tips were provided. Although if you are currently sporting a relaxer this book may give you more insight as to why you have...

5.0 out of 5 stars A VERY GOOD BOOK, April 11, 2000
This review is from: Healthy Hair Care Tips For Today's Black Woman (Paperback)
This book is easy to understand and is simply written. My relaxed hair was hard and brittle before I read this book. I purchased the book about three months ago and I can honestly say that my hair is the healthiest it has ever been. I am receiving compliments daily. Thank you Cheryl Moss for showing me the light. I was abusing my hair daily by using hot curling irons and styling sprits. I must admit that my girlfriend didn't like this book because she said that the book did not give enough information about natural hair care. My friend wears dreadlocks and doesn't think that this book is for any one that wears braids or dreads. I have to agree that this book doesn't give a lot of information on natural hair but I didn't buy this book for that reason. Several of my friends also read this book. The only person that said something negative was my friend that is big on natural hair. Let's face the fact: The majority of Black women wear a relaxer and do not consider themselves to be "sell outs". I personally don't feel that the way I wear my hair makes me more or less Black. So, I feel that if you are wearing a relaxer, this book is certainly the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Reader From Houston, April 9, 2000
This review is from: Healthy Hair Care Tips For Today's Black Woman (Paperback)
I read this book in a few hours. It taught me that I was doing a lot of things wrong to my hair. I now understand why my hair is shedding. Thank you Mrs. Moss for telling me the key ingredient you should look for in hair products. I get the feeling Mrs. Moss really cares about her profession and is sincerely trying to make a difference. She give her mailing address in the back of the book and suggests that you write to her if you have any additional questions about Black hair care after reading the book. I say to the sister that was trying to hate on Mrs. Moss, that you did not read this book because you would know that the person you thought was Mrs. Moss is actually her daughter. She tells you that in the book. I can not find fault in her for using her daughter as the main model. She is a very pretty girl after all. And she does give step by step instructions on how you can achieve various styles such as the wrap. But, I didn't buy this book to learn how to do hairstyles. I could have bought a hair magazine to learn how to get a hairstyle. I bought this book to get some insight about Black hair and to learn some of tips that the author recommends I try to have healthier relaxed hair. If you want to learn how to have healthy relaxed hair, I recommend that you buy this book because it showed me how to make my hair healthier. I have been following the tips for two weeks and I can see a definite improvement.

By A Customer
This review is from: Healthy Hair Care Tips For Today's Black Woman (Paperback)
I AM A RECOVERING PONT TAIL WEARING ADDICT. Before reading this informative book I would wear my hair in a ponytail every day. Mrs. Moss has taught me how to have bouncy, free-flowing hairstyles all of the time. Thank you sharing this information with the world. I am going to purchase several copies for my friends for Christmas presents.

5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL BOOK, July 16, 2000

This review is from: Healthy Hair Care Tips For Today's Black Woman (Paperback)
This book is absolutely wonderful! It was so easy to read and to understand. I like the way Mrs. Moss gives the key ingredients to look for in good and bad hair products without endorcing or "hating on" Black hair care companies. This book is filled with healthy hair care tips, and it took me only four hours to read it. I especially liked the way the author used ordinary people in the pictures to show that the book was really written with the average Black woman in mine! I think every Black woman should read this wonderful book (especially if she is wearing a chemical relaxer.) Please keep up the good work Mrs. Moss. Don't let this be your last book. We need sista's like you to keep US informed and to help US help OURSELVES! Thank you!

5.0 out of 5 stars ECELLRNT BOOK, April 19, 2000
This review is from: Healthy Hair Care Tips For Today's Black Woman (Paperback)
EXCELLENT BOOK

I do my own hair most of the time. I only go to the hairdresser when I need a haircut. This book has really helped me to understand all of the things that I was doing wrong with my hair. I like the writing style of the author. I felt as if she was talking directly to me. I would recommend this book to anyone. I am a recovering product junkie. You have to read this book to find out if you are one too. This book has changed my life! I will save money now because I learned that I don't need all of those different products to do my hair. (I can use that money for something else) Thank you Mrs. Moss for teaching me a lot about hair. I like they way you break down the hair structure and give background information on all of the hair types. I am going to tell every one that I know about this excellent book.

I just finished reading this very insightful hair care masterpiece. It was very easy to read. Almost like having a private conversation with Mrs. Moss as she helps me to make sure my hair is as healthy and beautiful as it can be. Enjoyed tremendously the question and answer section at the end. Thanks to Mrs. Moss I am now more capable of taking care of my hair. I can't wait until the next one.

This book has great information to help the african american woman get, keep and maintain healthy hair. For once there is a book on black hair that actually tells you what to do without trying to sell you something. I feel so much better about the condition of my hair since I purchased this book. Knowledge is power. Thank you Ms. Moss for caring enough to share your expertise.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK, January 5, 2001
This review is from: Healthy Hair Care Tips For Today's Black Woman (Paperback)
This is a great book that offers a lot of valuable information. I learned things about my hair I was never told about. The author breaks the hair structure down to simple terms that make the book very easy to read and understand.
