5.0 out of 5 stars Healthy Healing - Linda Page
This book is one of the best in covering all aspects of holistic medicine. The first half covers a concise review of the many types of healing: homeopathy, chiropractic, aromatherapy, magnets, tai chi, etc. Separate sections instruct on healing foods, detoxification, and lifestyle therapy. The latter half has one whole page on each type of ailment, listing all...

3.0 out of 5 stars Healthy Healing that's also a commercial
There is a lot of good information in this book, but the information is often overshadowed by the fact that the book feels like a several-hundred page advertisement for the nutritional supplements Linda Page sells through her company. If you can get past the fact that she mostly recommends her own products, there are important things to be learned from the book.

The latter half has one whole page on each type of ailment, listing all pertinent foods, vitamins, enzymes, exercise, including brand names and amounts. If you are assuming charge of your own health, you cannot be without this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars healthy healing, June 12, 2005
I have the older edition of this book and recently discovered that a new edition is out, today I am buying it. I'm assuming this will be just as wonderful and informative as the first. I've had it for over 5 years and have referenced it so many times on so many occassions that it is falling apart and pages are missing. I went on a detoxifying juice fast and followed her recipes in the book, the results were almost immediate and honestly the best I had ever felt in my life! I recommend this book to anyone disgusted with allopathic "cures" and wants to heal their body the way God and nature intended!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Star Healing, October 9, 2007
This review is from: Healthy Healing: A Guide to Self-Healing for Everyone, 12th Edition (Paperback)
I have been using this reference book for ten plus years. Regardless of the fact that Linda Page recommends a lot of her formula's in the book, if you have any interest in self healing and alternative health this is an invaluable resource. Actually, I like the fact that she plug's her product line because they are well researched and effective formula's. Also, it makes things a lot easier and less expensive when you are looking for the right herbs, supplements or diet. If you want to take responsiblity for your health or are curious about the holistic approach to any negative diagnosis get this book! (Of course, no book or suggestion should take the place of seeing your physician *wink*)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great information for maintaining maximum health., January 7, 2008
This review is from: Healthy Healing: A Guide to Self-Healing for Everyone, 12th Edition (Paperback)
I have used the information in Healthy Healing for many years. This year I gave a copy to all of my family members after I saw my grandson's reaction to his gift last Spring. He had serious infection and was being treated medically. I took him the book plus a 2 gallon jar of potassium broth. He downed the broth immediately - that is amazing in itself! - then eagerly read several sections in the book and applied them. His healing was rapid and his doctor amazed. That was when I decided to gift everyone with a copy of Healthy Healing!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best!, February 19, 2011
This review is from: Healthy Healing: A Guide to Self-Healing for Everyone, 12th Edition (Paperback)
After reading some of the negative reviews saying this book is just about self-promotion I went back and looked more closely at my 12th edition. (On a side, note this is the 3rd edition I've owned.) I would ask those of you who feel this way to go back and take another look, too. She is not pushing her own brand to the exclusion of all others. If you really pay attention to the therapy sections under the "pink pages" you see Crystal Star does show up, but she lists numerous other brands under a specific section so you have a choice. She will also highlight which ones are "highly effective" and most often it is not Crystal Star's product.

That being said, she did help get Crystal Star get off the ground years ago, then became the owner, again(really not sure if she was an owner before or not; can't remember off the top of my head) and she's never hidden this from the public. So, my thought on that is, if you feel you understand herbs, feel you make some of the best formulations, and have dedicated your life to wanting to truly help people, well then, of course you are going to promote your own product!

As a last thought, Linda Page isn't compelled to mention other brands at all in her book and she continues to do so. Most importantly, I think, is I've never come across her "bashing" other brands, which I think says so much about her character. I have used some of her products and loved them, and I've used some of her products and decided a different brand was a better choice for me in the end. I really appreciate having those choices in her book.

It is a WONDERFUL book full of information! At the very least, use it as a cross-reference with a number of other wonderful books you may have in your health library or with information you find online.

Enjoy and stay healthy!

4.0 out of 5 stars What a great textbook!, April 28, 2006
This review is from: Healthy Healing: A Guide to Self-Healing for Everyone, 12th Edition (Paperback)
This is one of our required textbooks at the school I'm attending and it is structured in such a way as to make the information you need quickly easy to find.

She also offers an entire section on protocols which helps you understand the steps you need to take for healing. Of course since Linda has her own line of products those are what she refers to and suggests but I wouldn't expect less of anyone who DOES have their own products to offer. You can always get your products elsewhere.

I agree with most of what she writes here with a couple of exceptions but overall it's a great and very interesting read and I did recently refer to this book in an online podcasting expo I participated in.

I had to have this book for school. I don't quite agree with all the information, but 90% of it is extremely informative and good for everyone to have on hand at home!
