Not just for straightening, September 5, 2009
Unlike most folks looking for and using straightening irons, I use my Wahl to add a little body to my very straight hair (especially my bangs) halfway through the work day. I didn't want a curling iron--I don't want curl, just body. This Wahl answers my needs very admirably. It adds lift at my bangs (I hold it upwards and pulled slightly to the back). As I roll it towards the ends it adds just a touch of curl, enough to brush out into body. It heats very quickly. It's easy to handle. The long long 8-foot cord is a God-send, although it could've had one more foot for me (the outlet is almost eight feet away). The lock mechanism is great--I let the iron cool while I brush out, then lock and stuff it into the Zoe pouch I bought for it. It seems very well-made, good solid materials with nothing rattley or loose. I'm not sure the little comb attachment does much with my ultra-fine blond hair. But the conditioning strip helps eliminate frizzies and heat damage and makes my hair shiny. Would I recommend this to friends needing a straightener? Absolutely! Also to friends wanting body or even loose curls. I'm extremely pleased with my Wahl.

Bad even for a low-end model, December 15, 2009
I initially thought what other reviewers did- awesome product and cheap. Nope. Key words: ceramic CLAD. These plates are NOT fully ceramic, and your hair will be living proof when it gets fried after the ceramic wears off. The reason it seems to work so well at first is the ceramic coating is not burned yet and the sillicone strip is good for your hair. However, the same effect can be had when using a sillicone product before straightening with any iron. This actual iron is horrible because the ceramic coating wears off the plates. You can tell a ceramic coated iron verses fully ceramic by the burning smell you get when you plug the ceramic coated one in and it heats up. Good, fully ceramic plates do not smell like they are burning. No wonder this iron burned my hair to a crisp after 2 weeks of use! Would not recommend; not a good low-end product.

My teen daughter loves this! Quick and easy., October 23, 2009
This review is from: Healthy Infusions by Wahl Designer Straightener, 2" (Health and Beauty)
This is the first straightener my daughter has ever owned, though she has wanted one for a long time. It was worth the wait! This warms up quickly, and she loves the way her hair looks after just a few minutes of use. She has never used the high heat settings; low ones are enough. I am very pleased with this purchase!
