Product Description

This ceramic knives are made of an advanced, high-tech ceramic called zirconium oxide (also called zirconia). Healthy Legend is the highest quality and similar in quality to the Kyocera ceramic knifves. Our deluxe mirror black blade is even 20% harder than the white blade with better breakage resistance and sharper. This material, which is second in hardness only to diamond, was originally developed for industrial applications where metal components failed. Zirconium oxide is extremely hard, wear resistant, and chemically inert. Zirconium oxide has a hardness of 8.2 mohs (vs. steel at 5-6 mohs and diamond at 10 mohs). Not all the ceramic knives are the same. Many of them were not heat treated enough or having too much impurity. The Healthy Legend knives have the highest quality and purity. They knives have 95% Zirconium oxide and the other 5% other materials to add strength and flexibility so they are not as easy to break when drop to the ground. Frequently Asked Questions: How do I sharpen ceramic knives? Unlike traditional steel cutlery, ceramic knives generally do not need to be sharpened at all for their entire life. The Johncera stay sharp about 50 times longer than the best stainless steel knives. It can be sharpen with ceramic knife sharpener if necessary. Will a ceramic knife shatter if dropped? Johncera ceramic knives will not shatter if dropped from 3 feet. As with any knife, however, the delicate tip can break if the knife is dropped on it tip first. How can I damage a ceramic knife? You can break the tip (and possibly snap the blade off the handle) if you use a ceramic knife to pry, rather than slice. You can also chip the edge if you cut into bones and twist. Ceramic is very strong and very hard but don't have as much flexibility. Therefore, if you use it correctly, it can last for years.

I was really excited to get this knife set because I already own a Kyocera ceramic white blade. In the description it says that this black blade is "harder than the white blade" well to my surprise as I was trimming a NY steak, the blade chipped when I accidentally cut into the bone. My Kyocera never chipped that way. I have 1 chip of the Kyocera & that was from waving the knife to get the excess water off & accidentally banged the edge onto my granite counter top. I though for sure the blade would have broken, but it was fine, only a chip. So yes very disappointed with the hardness of this blade. But if you are extremely careful, this set is super sharp. Value 3 stars.

I saw this seller selling the ceramic fry pan from Healthy Legend and bought one of set of ceramic knives also. The knives and peeler are very nice. I used the 4" knife to peel my apple. It did not turn brown for 30 minutes. It turned brownish almost right away when I used my stainless steel knife. The knives are very sharp and sharper than stainless knife. I dropped it once accidentally to the kitchen tile floor and it has no damage. The claim said that it never have to be sharpen. I feel the claim is true. Ceramic knife is the way to go. I am using the peeler to peel my potatoes. The 6" is good length but I am using it to cut meats. As the black blade is 20% harder than the white blade, I am still searching this claim on the internet. However, the Johncera knives are very good and I will try to buy a few more sets as Christmas gift for my mother and my sisters. It is definitely a good idea.
Because it has no metal at all, I think terrorist can eventually use this Johncera knife to get pass metal detectors in airports and government buildings. I don't know how they can address this issue. I means the 6" knife is almost as good as the hunting knife and can kill people a lot easier than the box cutter. They cannot just pad down search everyone or make everyone go thru. the controversial X-ray full body scan machine. I think they may eventually ask all ceramic knives to add something there so they can be detectable by metal detectors.

The knives are sharp, functional and worth the price. There isn't really anything wrong with them, but it would be nice it the manufacturer could change a couple small issues. First, the handle is too light weight. The knive doesn't feel solid and sturdy, but it does cut very well. I have a competitors ceramic knife with a heavier handle, which I prefer. Second is such a minor issue, but I gave 4 sets of these knives as Christmas gifts. The plactic packaging gave the knives a "cheap" perception. I would have prefered to spend a few dollars more and had packaging that would give a better first impression.

The knive are all good functional sizes. I believe the perfect set would eliminate the medium size knife and replace it with a long serrated knife for cutting bread. But then the set would cost more, also. I liked the knives except for the two minor issues described above.

These knives are great and work awesome. Only issue is they chip easy so do not use or bones etc. They are very sharp, wash up great and are over all super. Great price here on Amazon....just be careful what you use them on as once they chip they are not very effective!

These knives look like they will last forever...that being said, the plastic sheaths for each knife don't look like they'd last a month. Maybe it's just
the idea of extra protection to help maintain durability...

Ceramic knives are a great addition to any kitchen cutlery. Their inherent sharpness and 'agility' with meat and vegetables are unparrelled for the price and come close to my Messermeister 12" Chef's knife. I would highly recommend both the set and the company. The company ships promptly and has great customer service. I highly recommend both.

These knives are exactly what you need if you are tired of tearing through items as opposed to slicing. These knives cut through every matial that I have tried. I actully cut my finger on it while unwrapping the knives. They are that sharp. Just be careful when you cut with these knives. Make sure that you do not use a hard surface as a piece of the knife may shear off. I always use a wooden cutting board as my cutting surface and it has not damaged the cutting surfaces of any knives.
