3.0 out of 5 stars Uses a lot of egg protein powder, July 28, 2007
This review is from: The Healthy Low-Carb Cookbook, Organic Recipes free of Gluten, Grains, and Sugars with Allergy Substitutions (Plastic Comb)
I felt the recipes were OK, but I disliked the reliance on the Jay Robb Egg Protein powder. Way too many of the recipes call for this and it is difficult to find and very expensive. The author does not give any substitutes for this. Also, for $19.99, the book is rather primitive. No pictures, for example. There were also many recipes that called for packets of stevia and did not give the equivalent in teaspoons. Some real room for improvement, but a good effort. More for low-carb than gluten-free, I felt.

5.0 out of 5 stars I have Celiac, January 14, 2007
This review is from: The Healthy Low-Carb Cookbook, Organic Recipes free of Gluten, Grains, and Sugars with Allergy Substitutions (Plastic Comb)
This cookbook is the best. I was diagnosed with Celiac two years ago and learning how to cook and eat in a new way has been a challenge. This is a great tool for everyday living with Celiac, not too complex, VERY practical.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully delicious recipes!!!!!!!!!!, January 9, 2007
This review is from: The Healthy Low-Carb Cookbook, Organic Recipes free of Gluten, Grains, and Sugars with Allergy Substitutions (Plastic Comb)
Elizabeth's cookbook is unlike any other carb-free cookbook you'll find. I simply cannot believe the taste of these recipes. They are DELICIOUS and so good for you! She provides a great list of resources as well, specific brands that she recommends for each type of food. It is very helpful. The recipes are well written and easy to read, they are also kept short and sweet. My husband declared the lasagna the best he's ever had in his life! I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!!
