Great to the end and all the way through,

I have really enjoyed the oportunity to have my opinions read on various artist, Thanks Amazon! I find it interesting to read what others have to say...but sometimes I just don't agree with them. This is one of those instances. I can see how there can be controversial issues facing this album. It really is different. Not normal run of the mill guitar rock. It's probably not one for everybody. Definitely not for metalheads simply because it won't invert your eardrums and cause paint to peel from your walls. This group has about the same heaviness as Lifehouse. With the catchiness of Collective Soul. The vocals come through distinct, powerful and straight forward. Take track #3 "no sympathy". It speaks to me in a variety of ways. I am easiest to reminisce about the old times battling with my friends and their drug addictions. Also, track #2, "ego" with lines like "I'll hold you up, even when you're wrong ...because You're mine" Which reminds me of my girlfriend who has always stuck by me and has basically quoted those exact words. Aside from just good old fashioned emotional song writing, this is about the best group I've ever heard. Excellent toned vocals, among the most catchy choruses I've ever listened to. Song after song they pull this thing out with amazing soothability. I hope they can remain this good in their cd's to come! They are a must have for myself. I have loved listening to this group over and over and over. They have enough talent to satisfy most anyone. I would easily recommend this for anyone past the "metalhead" stage in life.

Clockwise(Phater than Albert) has reached the top! This album rocks....you gotta buy it, trust me on this one. Normally there is one or two songs on every album that you hate.....NOT this one, every song just sucks you in and blows you away.

"lay her down" grabbed my attention very quickly and has become one of my favorite songs lately.after taking a listen to the rest of the cd, i was very bored with it and it is all trite material used several times before.definitely check out the cd for "lay her down" (grab it for a penny plus shipping on amazon) but don't expect too much after that.

Extra Cheese,
By The Metal Guy (Sin City) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Healthy Manipulation (Audio CD)
I bought this CD because this band is from my home town and I've heard good things about them.I hate to have to bash my own city but if these guys are the best Vegas has to offer I don't see much hope for our Rock Scene. This band is no different from most of the other bands you hear on the Nu-Rock stations. It reminds me of 70's bubble gum pop.Sure some of the songs are catchy, but in a David Cassidy sort of way.The singer sounds like he should be working on the Vegas strip as a Cher Impersonator instead of attempting to sing in a rock band. The Drummer is Boring. His style is Rigid, and it lacks soul. The Guitar players riffs are Flat and uncreative. Every song is about a girlfriend,or breaking up with a girlfriend...Nothing special here. It's todays Glam rock, nothing more...Save your cash.

Easily the best thing I've heard in a while,
By
This review is from: Healthy Manipulation (Audio CD)
To begin this review I must start off by saying that I love this album, and I really don't know why. It's not like there is anything different on Healthy Manipulation. Nothing that you can't dial up on a radio any other time of day. The lyrics don't have real depth to them. In fact I've heard the album twenty times or so and I still don't know the words. It's like everything about the album is insignificant except the album itself. There is just a sound quality about the whole thing. There is a strong driven melody or rather kind of an umph. You know I wish I could explain it more, hell as a gutiarist I wish I knew what it was just so I could obtain it. The songs don't stand out from eachother, but that is because if there is no filler on an album; a song doesn't sound amazing. I can think of a hundered bands that are better then Clockwise but few albums that have the qualities that healthy manipulation has. I strongly reccommend this album to anyone that is into this type of music. Basically if you have went out of your way to find this unknown band and read my review to this point, you should buy it, if nothing else buy it used. It won't change your life or even your opinion on nu-metal or whatever it is the masses wish to deam this album, but it is still very good. Thank you for your time.
