The manufacturer of this product claims this lasts for 30 days. IT DOES NOT. I have been using this product for several years, and have found it only lasts a good 2 weeks, 3 weeks at a STRETCH. I have 2 birdbaths and change the water every day. The product works GREAT and I am happy with it. I just wish it was not so expensive. I ordered 8 units of this on July 25 2009, today is September 11 2009 and I'm down to my last 2 units which I will put in the bird feeders today, so do the maths, IF they were to last 30 days each, then if I use 2 bird baths (2 sachets of treatments), shouldn't that last me approx 4 months if I purchased 8 on July 25? Let's say I have got about 6 weeks of usage out of the 8 units (for 2 bird baths).

The product does work great, and I highly recommend it, if you can get over the expense of this, PLUS another observation I've made (and I wrote to the manufacturer about it too, but they don't seem to care). The plastic casing that the product comes in, once the product sits in the bird bath, the plastic casing pops open and the sachet inside the plastic casing leaves the sachet, so I always end up throwing out the plastic casing. The sachet swells up when it sits in the water and is fine without the plastic casing. I see a huge waste of money with the manufacturers using this plastic casing which is not doing what it's supposed to do (keep the sachet inside the plastic casing). [...]

I was unsure about this product when I ordered it - but it performed wonderfully. It kept the water clear in my birdbath, just like it promised. My birdbath sits in the sun and easily became cloudy and hard to clean. This worked!

Product seemed to work until it rained. Then birdbath quickly turned green. Cleaned bath however; every two days the bath began to turn green again. Wrote to parent company, Bioverse, whos words of wisdom were to clean the bath. The greenest thing in the bidbath was the "Healthy Ponds" cleaning packet. Don't waste your money.

Until I stopped using them. They work. They don't keep the algae from forming, but they keep it from sticking to the birdbath.

I'm surprised at all the good reviews this product has received. I bought a product called Fountain Clear and the stuff, while somewhat expensive, worked like a charm. I thought I'd save some money and try these and boy am I sorry I did. I thoroughly cleaned out my bird bath, added a cleaner pack, and within 8 days I had a scum filled bird bath. I repeated the cleaning and added a new cleaner pack and ended up with the same scum filled birdbath within 8 days. Going back to the more expensive but tried and true Fountain Clear.

It wasn't two days before scum was forming in the bird bath after putting this in. I have better results with putting a penny in the bottom.

This product does not work! I did a lot of research too! Didn't really wanna spend the money on cleaning a stinkin bird bath. This is a waste of money. Water went immediately brown & I had bleached it before using these things!

Living in southern California with the over abundance of sun always gave us an extra chore weekly of cleaning moss from the pump for the two-tier fountain. After using Bioverse, well it has actually been 6 weeks and the spout of water is just starting to slow and the water is the clearest is has ever been. Excellent product, the birds of all breeds love it and so do we.

I have always had trouble keeping my bird baths clean. So far they have worked well as long as you keep water in the bird bath. I still have to fill the bird baths on most days but I don't have to clean them. I would buy them again because it does save time not having to clean the bird baths so often.

I have just only begun using this product and so far so good. There are no mosquitos in the water or any bugs for that matter.
