With the heat of summer in full swing, the next stage of Secondhand Serenade’s saga is gearing up for release. Those familiar with the words of John Vesely, the man behind Secondhand Serenade, have lived through his picturesque stories of life’s ups and downs - from the act’s acoustic debut, Awake, to the fuller, and more emotionally complex sounds of 2008’s sophomore ... Format:Audio CD
I enjoyed the last two albums, I like this one even more. There is a definite evolution in his sound. This is an excellent album that I highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars From a Relationship to Self Realizations August 5, 2010
Format:Audio CD
well this was a change from John's last album "A Twist In My Story" which was about getting in, through, and out of a relationship. But "Hear Me Now" is totally about self awareness about your own being - that there are bads and goods (pro's and con's) about him/yourself as a human. There will be forgiveness - to me - is the basic line that pops in my head when i listen to the album. So far it is the best yet and i can't wait to see what else Secondhand Serenade will create.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Twist in his Sound August 3, 2010
Format:Audio CD
While I fell in love with the earnest sound and simple acoustic stylings of John's first album, I have to admit I did not expect to like the edgier tracks I knew were coming on Here Me Now. However, I get the sense that John intentionally parted ways with his former musical tendencies and through this effort, has proven his harmonies work flawlessly regardless of the backdrop. The music is more mature, but the sincerity and passion we all loved on his first two albums is still there.

5.0 out of 5 stars SS Just keeps getting better... October 9, 2010
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
I own all three of Secondhand Serenade's albums (Awake, A Twist In My Story, and Hear Me Now), and each album is better than the previous. He stays true to his style of the previous two albums, with his sweet voice and catchy songs. The songs are original, and stay stuck in your head all day. Listening to this album makes me happy!

5.0 out of 5 stars One word-awesome September 29, 2010
By Breb12
Format:Audio CD
John did it again! Another awesome album with great vocals and lyrics! His sound is a little different from his previous albums but for the better. He as matured a lot. If you haven't bought it already, your missing out. Every song is perfect, you won't wanna stop listening. My favorite songs are 'Something More' and 'Hear Me Now'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another success September 22, 2010
Format:Audio CD
Hear Me Now definitely varies more in terms of style/tempo from song to song than previous SS CDs. It has some very radio-friendly songs (Stay Away anyone?), and it also has the songs that you love even more after you buy the CD and listen to the entire thing. Something More is definitely the stand-out song for me on this CD though as being the most creative/different. A definite buy if you're already a fan, and a good buy to branch out and try something new.

5.0 out of 5 stars Change is good! September 3, 2010
Format:Audio CD
The original sound of Secondhand Serenade - a man with a guitar - was something I fell completely in love with. His sound changed up just a little bit in his second album, and the growth was definitely something that kept me hooked. It was the same old SS, but then again, it wasn't. Once again, Secondhand Serenade's sound has evolved in his latest album, and it's only gotten better. This album has a lot more energy, but it still meshes completely with his old sound, and the lyrics are as deep and expressive as ever. This album will be of particular interest to anyone who is going through a significant change in their lives... it is all about personal growth, acknowledging and getting past mistakes you have made, and moving on with a more positive outlook.

4.0 out of 5 stars Music and lyrics bound in melodies! August 25, 2010
By Michael
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Hear Me Now takes the formula of A Twist In My Story and repeats it resulting in the creation of more ear candy. It seems Secondhand Serenade were happy to go with the flow to an extent and stick with what worked for them last time. Existing fans will probably love this copycat style because most of the songs can't help but sparkle again. Highlights include the powerful opening song "Distance", the awesomely melodic "You And I", the heartfelt and epic chorus of "Is There Anybody Out There", and the absolute hit waiting to happen "Only Hope". Hear Me Now doesn't offer anything new but the heartfelt lyrics, warm melodies, and brilliant production make it an album that is very easy to enjoy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Polished
Another band goes pop and ruins their gritty edge.
The reason SS was so good was because it was raw
and simple. Dashboard Confessional made the same
awful mistake.
