well this was a change from John's last album "A Twist In My Story" which was about getting in, through, and out of a relationship. But "Hear Me Now" is totally about self awareness about your own being - that there are bads and goods (pro's and con's) about him/yourself as a human. There will be forgiveness - to me - is the basic line that pops in my head when i listen to the album. So far it is the best yet and i can't wait to see what else Secondhand Serenade will create.

I enjoyed the last two albums, I like this one even more. There is a definite evolution in his sound. This is an excellent album that I highly recommend.

While I fell in love with the earnest sound and simple acoustic stylings of John's first album, I have to admit I did not expect to like the edgier tracks I knew were coming on Here Me Now. However, I get the sense that John intentionally parted ways with his former musical tendencies and through this effort, has proven his harmonies work flawlessly regardless of the backdrop. The music is more mature, but the sincerity and passion we all loved on his first two albums is still there.

The original sound of Secondhand Serenade - a man with a guitar - was something I fell completely in love with. His sound changed up just a little bit in his second album, and the growth was definitely something that kept me hooked. It was the same old SS, but then again, it wasn't. Once again, Secondhand Serenade's sound has evolved in his latest album, and it's only gotten better. This album has a lot more energy, but it still meshes completely with his old sound, and the lyrics are as deep and expressive as ever. This album will be of particular interest to anyone who is going through a significant change in their lives... it is all about personal growth, acknowledging and getting past mistakes you have made, and moving on with a more positive outlook.

Hear Me Now takes the formula of A Twist In My Story and repeats it resulting in the creation of more ear candy. It seems Secondhand Serenade were happy to go with the flow to an extent and stick with what worked for them last time. Existing fans will probably love this copycat style because most of the songs can't help but sparkle again. Highlights include the powerful opening song "Distance", the awesomely melodic "You And I", the heartfelt and epic chorus of "Is There Anybody Out There", and the absolute hit waiting to happen "Only Hope". Hear Me Now doesn't offer anything new but the heartfelt lyrics, warm melodies, and brilliant production make it an album that is very easy to enjoy.

Hear Me Now definitely varies more in terms of style/tempo from song to song than previous SS CDs. It has some very radio-friendly songs (Stay Away anyone?), and it also has the songs that you love even more after you buy the CD and listen to the entire thing. Something More is definitely the stand-out song for me on this CD though as being the most creative/different. A definite buy if you're already a fan, and a good buy to branch out and try something new.

I discovered Secondhand Serenade about 2 years ago on accident thru Itunes. I must say that was one of the best things that ever happened to me musically. I absolutely love this man's albums. All 3 are excellent and it is incredibly awesome to see his sound mature. Something More is a beautifully written song and I think the standout of this album. I plead with you to start listening to John's music - you will become hooked.

I own all three of Secondhand Serenade's albums (Awake, A Twist In My Story, and Hear Me Now), and each album is better than the previous. He stays true to his style of the previous two albums, with his sweet voice and catchy songs. The songs are original, and stay stuck in your head all day. Listening to this album makes me happy!

John did it again! Another awesome album with great vocals and lyrics! His sound is a little different from his previous albums but for the better. He as matured a lot. If you haven't bought it already, your missing out. Every song is perfect, you won't wanna stop listening. My favorite songs are 'Something More' and 'Hear Me Now'.

John Vesely does it again. He first got me with Awake. I just love his soulful, emotional voice and music. This CD continues his soft but powerful music style. If you a Secondhand Serenade fan, you won't be disappointed. John reminds me of Dashboard Confessional and Justin Nozuka, so if you enjoy them try Secondhand Serenade out. Vesely writes all his own songs, so each song is a reflection of himself. It makes his songs more meaningful and sincere. My favorite songs on the CD are Something More, You and I, Only Hope, and Hear Me Now.
